Highly recommend staying at Marc n Marleen’s property…you won’t be disappointed.

The property used to be a farm and we loved the location..was easy to take the train into Brussels and avoid driving the car in…stunning location and Mark n Marleen were superb hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and the breakfasts were scrumptious.

Amazing stay

The owners were amazing, welcoming and really kind. The breakfast was magnificent, all kinds of bread, a good selection of cheeses and ham, along with fruits and yoghurt,,butter and jam ,eggs.....i cannot ask for more 😁 Everything was clean, we had a beautiful view and even a table outside to sit and observe nature. Very peaceful place far away from the city noise with all you need for a wonderful stay! A good place to stay if you want to go to the Waterloo reenactments. We will be back for sure!

Serene, Tranquil Stay in Forest Setting

This is an exceptional B&B. Marc and Marleen are warm, friendly and informative hosts. It was like home away from home. Spacious, clean, modern with all necessary amenities. The grounds are spectacular with forest views, gardens and outdoor patio area. Comfy bed, modern climate control and large TV even offering Netflix. Great WiFi. I was there to do photography at the annual Bluebell Festival in the Hallerbos Forest and this B&B was chosen due to its close walking proximity. Breakfast was delivered to my door daily and it was plentiful!! Whatever is your pleasing - cheese, meat, breads, croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit, tea/coffee. The couple were there all the time to offer assistance and travel tips. I will always cherish my memory of Halle and stay at the B&B Plattestien.

Magic holiday

This cannot be described in words. Everything is there as described in the ad, or even better. Lovely hosts, attentive, caring and ready to help. Room equipment elegant, modern and very practical. There is no scale in the form for the rating of the ‘royal’ breakfast with a view on the magic Hallerbos forest (one has to see it in spring!). A collection of information is available on site to help you navigate the area. Would gladly go there again!

An ideal place to stay especially if visiting the Bluebell woods in April.

Wonderful breakfast served in my room with view over countryside.I was supplied with maps and suggestions for walks. The bluebell woods were in flower so I was able to do many woodland walks.

This B&B did not do evening meals but there were restaurants nearby apparently.I did not bother as it meant reserving a table by phone and I do not speak French.

Comfortable stay at Plattestien

Great location set in the fields on the edge of the forest but close to good road links. Welcoming hosts with great local knowledge and happy to give tips on activities in the area, great breakfast, lovely garden, comfortable facilities. A charming stay, highly recommended.

A little gem to discover... and return to visit!

This B&B is a gem! Beautiful countryside surroundings, easy access with waze, close to amenities and Hallerbos. There is only one room located on a second storey, and is accessed via a separate outside stairs, through a patio door overlooking a nice garden. It a small suite, beautifully furnished, with seating area, tv and table and chairs for two, a comfortable queen size bed with good pillows. Its amenities includes microwave, kettle, coffee machine , dishes and a small fridge with drinks. A large bathroom with shower, double sinks. The windows are screened against insects. A large copious breakfast was delivered via an inside corridor on a little trolley and we used the dishes provided in the room. We found this to be an ingenious system in these covid times where minimal contacts are preferred. Our hosts thought of everything (there is even a small dying rack to dry your things when it rains....). There is a covered patio where the guests can enjoy breakfast or sit and relax outside when it is warmer. Parking is available on the premises. We will definitely return to spent more time in the forest and visit friends in the future.

A place to return to!

The breakfast was very good in quality and quantity. The host Marc went out of his way to look for a nearby takeaway, and when I didn't feel well the next morning we could stay as long as we wanted because there were no guests that evening. They like to share stories with their guests, a bit difficult nowadays with Covid, but nevertheless we were at it for more than an hour outside. You actually have a small apartment on the 1st floor with a staircase at the outside, and a staircase at the inside the hosts use to bring up the breakfast. The minibar contains local beers at very democratic prices.

Mini-Luxury Penthouse Experience

The space and cleanliness of the place. Everything fresh and new. Good quality breakfast in generous portions by a very friendly and sociable host. TV with English and international channels. Massive shower room with beautiful views, good ventilation and decent heating facilities. Definitely a penthouse experience in Halle I will visit again.

Tolle Vermieter. Sehr engagiert. Alles privat. Geschmackvoll, modern eingerichtet. Sehr gute Betten Boxspring. Ruhige, hügelige, ländliche Lage, dennoch in Weltstadtnähe. Wandern, Radsport etc idealer Ausgangspunkt.

Geweldige kamer met dito ontbijt.

De kamer is mooi en groot. En zeker het uitzicht over de landerijen en in bloei staande fruitbomen is fantastisch! De tuin is een soort parkje. Vijvertjes en smalle wandelpaadjes die uiteindelijk in een boomgaard uitkomen. Het ontbijt is super uitgebreid. Vier broodjes per persoon met beleg, jam, fruit een toetje en een thermoskan koffie. We maakte meteen wat broodjes voor onderweg en dat was ook de bedoeling, maar het was voor ons eigenlijk veel te veel.

Kermit de kikker laat zich 's nachts in vijver horen en wat verderop in de straat had men een feestje. Maar toen ik de schuifdeur van de B&B dicht deed was het super stil.

Tout le séjour, de huits jours c'est révélé formidable, le logement est beau, spacieux, propre, tout le nécessaire de toilette y est. Du thé tisane et café est à disposition . Le jardin est beau et très bien entretenu, dans un cadre champêtre à la campagne sans être trop éloigné de la ville. Nos petits déjeuners étaient extras, ultra copieux et vraiment variés, nous avons adoré. De plus le propriétaire est très sympathique, accueillant et serviable. Je ne peux que recommander ce B&B.

Heerlijk genieten van de rust en natuur

Mooie ingerichte kamer met alle nodige voorzieningen voor een aangenaam verblijf. Rustig gelegen met een prachtig uitzicht op de natuur en dicht bij het Hallerbos. En niet te vergeten een uitstekend ontbijt in alle rust op je eigen kamer. Marc en Marleen doen hun uiterste best om hun gasten het naar hun zin te maken.

We waren vergeten het ontbijt te reserveren en was achteraf geen enkel probleem. Men ging direct boodschappen voor ons doen. En het ontbijt was goed en royaal.

De weg er naar toe maar daar kunnen de mensen zelf niets aan doen.

Prachtig uitzicht vanuit de kamer, rustig en uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet op de kamer, heel vriendelijk onthaal en bijkomende informatie gekregen.
