Like sleeping in a sewer (smell and cleanliness)

Location

The whole place was filthy and smelled of sewage. The upstairs loft was very dangerous (a hole in the ceiling and slippery wooden steps leading to it). Who can live in such filth?

Excellent stay in Strasbourg.

The location was amazing. It is a very pretty area, it's close to shops, tourist attractions, and transport means. The apartment itself is really cozy and has everything that you need. The owner is really nice and helpful. He answers messages really fast and is really understanding.

To be honest, there's nothing that I didn't like. I will for sure come back here when I come to Strasbourg. The only thing is that during the summer it can be quite hot inside, as it's the top floor, but that's out of the owner's hands. And they do have electric fans.

the faucet in the kitchen was leaking the cistern in the toilet was leaking there was practically no hot water in the bathroom the beds were creaky There were no trash bags.

Excellent value for money for tourists on a budget, less ideal for business travelers

There are some pro's to the property, mostly if you are traveling as a tourist (which isn't my case): - the host graciously agreed to an early check-in, and did his utmost best to explain me everything about the flat, its amenities and the rules about trash collection; he also took time to make sure the WiFi was working before he left. - tourist-wise, the flat is located very much in the center of the old Strasbourg, and you will find plenty of options for food and drinks nearby. Also, you will you be able to park your car in a reasonably-priced parking some 300m away, which is always a plus. My personal circumstances meant the location was less than ideal for myself, but that should not influence other travelers. - the flat is decently equipped (be aware the Nespresso machine is a "Vertuo" one that requires specific pods though), and there are no issue if you need to cook something; - the bedding options are plenty, and 4 people could easily stay there as there's a double bed, a single bed and a sofa bed available. Value for money would be awesome for a group of 4 traveling on a budget. - despite the flat being on the building top floor, the water pressure is very good, something that can be an issue in old buildings such a that one. - the flat was sparkling clean when I arrived. - the WiFi was very good with a solid and fast connection.

Now unfortunately there are also some con's: - due to the building configuration (something the host has no control on mind you), the bathtub is located under a diagonal beam. This means that taking a shower can be done only in the right corner of the bathtub... and even then you will bump frequently in the aforementioned beam. - the staircase leading to the bedroom is using what I call "boat stairs" (wide on the side you're supposed to put your foot, narrow on the other side) to cope with the angle, and there's no handrail. If you need to use the toilet at night, this can lead to a quite precarious situation, as it's not easy to use such a staircase while being half-asleep. Also, for left-handed people such as myself (who tend to put the left foot first), it can be quite tricky. - also something the host does not have control on but that can be said: the church nearby rings every hour, 24/7, and the bells ring at around 07:15 to call for mass (not good if you're a late riser). And in the evening, groups of people tend to congregate at the "Le Tricheur" bar downstairs for a fun and loud time until late. - the mirror in the bathroom as well as the shower curtain should be changed. - I'm 175cms, and I found the double bed a bit on the small side: if I didn't put the pillows all the way on top of the bed, my feet were going over the edge. - I was fully aware of this but... 63 steps!

As escadas de acesso ao apartamento estavam demasiado sujas. A casa de banho devia sofrer uma intervenção. A torneira do lavatório é demasiado grande para aquela pia. A banheira devia ser substituída por um duche. Não é nada prático tomar banho.

A casa tinha algum pó , embora tenhamos dito que éramos 5, a segunda cama que é no sofá não estava pronta , e também não era a mais confortável . A banheira é bastante desconfortável
