The Cattleya Guest House Sigiriya

Nice clean room in a very quiet garden. Great breakfast and attentive staff. Lots of birds in the garden.

Not sure if it is a booking.com problem or individual guesthouses but when you book a place that says " No credit card needed", this often changes to "cash only " on the confirmation when it is too late to cancel. Cash only is fine, but it would be best to make it clear before people book in order to avoid confusion afterwards.

What a fabulous stay!!! We had such a lovely stay at Cattleya Guest House and would absolutely recommend it. The rooms are large, spacious and clean, and back onto a beautiful garden filled with wildlife - such a peaceful setting to come back to after a day exploring. Asoka’s hospitality was excellent and made the whole stay feel incredibly warm and welcoming. He really does make you feel more like a guest in his home than a traveller passing through. He was also so helpful in organising our tuk tuk for an early morning walk up Lion’s Rock, which made everything wonderfully easy. And the breakfast - honestly, so delicious. Easily the best we’ve had during our travels around Sri Lanka. Thank you so much for having us, we’d happily stay again in a heartbeat!

Really comfortable room and incredible breakfast each morning served looking out over the beautiful garden. Asoka was kind and really helpful, in particular arranging trips to the national park and Polonnaruwa for us and helping us book taxis even after we'd left Sigiriya.

Lots of mosquitoes in Sigiriya! I might have benefitted from a mosquito net

- One room was very smelly, the WIFI wasn’t working, the air condition did the job but could be stronger. + The rooms were private, facing a garden. The owner was kind and drove us to the Sigiriya Lions Rock for our sunrise hike for free.
