Relaxing and would visit again.

Very comfortable and spacious. Lovely area.

Lack of toilet roll and washing up liquid. Nothing to do with the property but the staff at the pub across the rd (20 second walk and only pub in the village) seemed more interested in the more wealthy clients leaving us feel not worthy.

Lovely for a short break

We booked the cottage so we could have a New Year’s Eve meal at the Durham Ox so the location was fabulous. It was a really cold day and it was lovely and warm when we got there.

It’s a small thing but it would have been lovely if there had been a jar of coffee and tea bags.

Well equipped cottage.The cottage was not very well cleaned .kitchen oven was not been cleaned full of grease all the cutlery not cleaned.Bath room toilet seat was lose toilet holder kept falling if the wall.Bedroom skirting boards were full dust could not use the draws in the bedroom smelly not been cleaned.living room settees smelt of dog wee curtains were black.wood stove been used not cleaned out.carpets could do with clean.The whole cottage could do with deep clean look like not been touch for weeks.Dont stop here .

Good for what we needed, but wouldnt stay again.

The property is a great little bolt hole and its a great price and a nice quiet location.

The oven didnt work There were no logs for the fire The kettle leaks when you pour It was surface clean, but overall it could do with a deep clean, particularly in the bathroom.

Very disappointing

Really good location. The village is very quiet and pretty with a pub across the road.

Very disappointed with the property. It was dirty, and a lot of the fixtures and fittings were broken and we could not secure the bedroom window at night which made us feel unsafe as it is at street level. The property has damp, which can be seen in the bathroom and smelt in the air. There were cobwebs hanging down from the ceiling in places and dust all over the place. We had to leave after one night due to a flare up of allergies due to the amount of dust and dirt. The mattress is also very hard. All in all, a pretty bad experience. The host was quite dismissive of the issues we had.

Honeysuckle is a pleasant holiday cottage that, with a little attention, could be excellent.

The property is fairly well laid out, all on one level, and the bed was very comfortable and clean. Despite being beside a reasonably busy road, the cottage was quiet. Crayke is a nice village, with fantastic views from the top of the hill (a short walk up from Honeysuckle), and within easy driving distance of York.

Some items (e.g window blinds & kitchen bin) were broken. The kettle drips badly when pouring, due to a buildup of limescale. The blinds in the kitchen are very dirty. The shower tray is cracked. The property had been cleaned, but not in great depth, and there were cobwebs here and there, as well as dust and grime on some horizontal surfaces. While much is good about Honeysuckle, it needs a good clean, and the broken items need to be replaced. As it is, I would describe it as "tired".

Disappointing.

Convenient location and beautiful village.

Property had been left unsecured. Let ourselves in through a locked door/lock box only to find out late evening that the other door to the property wasn’t locked. No apologies when we contacted the host. I was travelling with my daughter so it caused us some concern until we’d checked everywhere. I don’t usually complain and wouldn’t have if they’d have even acknowledged at the time.

Beautiful, super cosy apartment, with all the mod cons in a stunning country setting.

It was the perfect location for us, we were attending a wedding reception in the village.

There was nothing not to like about the property, we would highly recommend it.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location!

The location was ideal as we were at a wedding directly opposite the cottage. It was an ideal place for our stay and the host was attentive and helpful over email and in person. Would definitely book again and explore the surrounding area.

Perfect for a quiet break.

Lovely cottage, perfect for a quiet break for me and Molly (Yorkshire Terrier). Within half an hours drive to the park & ride for York so able to visit York or catch a train to Scarborough, drive to Whitby and other places of interest.

Kitchen needs a deep clean. Had to wash dishes, glasses and cutlery before use. Inside kitchen cupboards dirty. Spoke to landlord about dirty oven and used dirty trays within. He took the baking trays away to be washed. Rest of the apartment was nice and clean. Shower did not drain properly. Rest of the apartment was clean'

Perfect getaway for our wedding anniversary

We received the code from John and Kate a couple of days before our arrival. They also included directions and suggested where to park. Everything went smoothly. John also ensured we could connect online when we had a minor issue. The house is just perfect for a couple it had everything and was nice and clean. The bed was maybe a bit on the softer side for us but very good sized. We had a selection of pillows so I could use the firmer one whilst Adam could have a soft one. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner upon our arrival. The living room had two sofas so we could stretch our legs after long walks in York. We will most definitely return.

I can't mention anything really. We were just simply satisfied with the accommodation. I truly believe it is a little gem cottage.
