Great relaxing break
Lovely location and comfortable cottage

Lovely long weekend
We loved our stay; our toddler enjoyed the animals and the play equipment outside, and she loved playing with the owners' daughter (who was very kind!). We had everything we needed, even a stairgate, heaters and recycling. Thank you for the eggs as well. The location was fantastic, near so many lovely sights and restaurants. We hope to be back!

Nice cottage in good location
The location was lovely, out of the way but not too far off the beaten track and very quiet at night. Not too far from nearest small town with shops and pubs, only a few miles from Pickering, Thornton Dale and Dalby which was our main purpose for our stay. Nice walk within farm to walk the dog down to a small stream and pond. Cottage was clean and comfy with all we needed for a short break, was nice to be able to light a fire in the evening like we do at home every night in the winter. { although the fire in cottage is an open one and a bit hungry for wood}

A comfortable four night stay in a wonderful part of the world!
We chose the cottage after reading the reviews and also for its location which was right in the middle of everywhere that we wanted to go-York, Darlington and Whitby! This is a very cosy clean cottage with a very well-equipped kitchen and plenty of other facilities including extra bedding and heaters. Lots of hot water and we enjoyed having a real fire. It was very peaceful at the cottage and generally, we all slept well. We saw quite a lot of wildlife whilst we were there including barn owls who flew alongside our car on two occasions! We really enjoyed our delicious eggs-thank you-and seeing the chickens wandering about was great!
We would have liked a bigger bed! For a double, it felt small. The stairs are quite steep-we were fine but some might struggle a bit. All of us needed to hold onto the handrail (including two teenagers!)

Exceptional
I loved the silence all around. That there was no distruption whatsoever during our stay. Checking in and out was so easy and quick.
I can't think of anything we disliked.

Tranquil and idillic surroundings, traditional cottage and easy drive to York
The property is a stunning cottage on the side of the farmhouse with a good size cottage garden overlooking the fields beyond. The cottage itself is traditional in style, very well equipped and is truly a home from home. All mod cons are provided and you need bring nothing but your personal bits and pieces and food. The hosts have thought of everything including really handy instructions for the appliances and wood and kindling should you feel adventurous enough to build your own fire. The only tiny tiny thing was the water wasn't pipping hot for long and luxurious bath but good enough for a quick soak. We really enjoyed seeing the chickens and lambs and watching the pigs play in the rain was a memory not to be forgotten. Easy driving distance from York to do the touristy things, a good number of local villages in a short distance for a trip out and the bonus of the tranquil and idillic surroundings for just sitting in the garden was perfect. With fresh free range eggs and a local guide, I would fully recommend Summerfield Farm Cottage for couples and families alike.
Leaving...I wanted to live there, rent full time and get my son a job on the farm :). Seriously though, I loved the place, it was a dream for me and there is nothing, bar a notch up on the water heater, I would change.

Relaxing place
Located away from town. Short drive if you wanted to visit local towns such as Helmsley. Really comfortable cottage with everything that you need. Kitchen well stocked with all utensils and tools.
Everything was fine.
