That we didn’t spend more time there!

The hosts were super friendly and helpful. We booked a meal at the Italian restaurant in Helmsley on their recommendation and it was fabulous. The walk to Hemlsely was also easy to follow. The cottage was cosy and homely and the view was stunning. Just what we needed to recharge out batteries.
The bedroom was very hot and we struggled to sleep as we couldn't open the window very wide and it was quite small. A lighter weight quilt (or maybe just a sheet or blanket) and a fan would be good in the hot weather.
The shower was not very powerful, but I appreciate it's difficult with water pressure in some rural areas.

The premises was very clean and homely. There was a lovely log fire which kept the living room nice and warm. It was nice to wake up to peace and quiet and watch the sheep in the nearby field.
There was only one thing that I found wrong in the cottage and that there was lime scale in the kettle so did not have a hot drink whilst there. I know that if we had mentioned it to the owner it would have been changed but we were not there for long.

Beautiful setting and facilities, especially in the summer wheel we were there. The cottages are finished to a very high standard, and the owner is making continual improvements and carrying out maintenance as required.
There was very little noise transfer between building, and the surrounding area was peaceful. The shared courtyard was filled with the sound of bird song.
Very comfortable beds and bedding, modern kitchen and new flooring. Sofas and general facilities were easy clean and spotless.
There is plenty of completely safe space available outdoors for either children to play or couples to relax in the quiet with fantastic views.
The owner is pleasant and polite, offering light conversation and reassurance of support with the property while passing - without any pressure if intrusion on privacy of the holiday.
Excellent pre-arrival information via Email, with Covid awareness. Further local information in the cottage on arrival to help plan our stay. As well as local knowledge from the owner.
There was very little to dislike. Nit-picking would be a slightly larger shower cubicle might feel more practical - perfectly adequate however.
Our boiler timer did have a slightly loud ticking sound which could heard at night.
Really very little!!
