Beautiful Historic Townhouse with Thoughtful Service

Goldstern Townhouse is a beautiful place to stay in the heart of Bolzano The location is excellent, right in the historic center. The building itself is a stunning medieval house, beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated, with great attention to detail. A lovely historical touch is knowing that Giacomo Casanova once lived just next door, something that truly adds to the sense of place and history. Service was genuinely great: professional, kind, and very attentive. One important point to note is accessibility: the lift only reaches the second floor, and the higher floors require using narrow staircases. This can be challenging if you have mobility issues or are uncomfortable with heights. I was initially assigned a room on a higher floor, which wasn’t suitable for me, but the staff handled this promptly and kindly, offering me another room on a lower floor accessible by the lift, which I really appreciated. Breakfast is quite basic compared to the overall standard of the property, but overall this is a charming, character filled townhouse with excellent service and a fantastic location.

We have a wonderful stay at Goldenstern and plan to return in the future.

The staff were incredibly friendly, explaining all the amenities and the history of the hotel. They gave us a tour of the building so that we wouldn't get lost (even thought we did!).

Convenient stay in Bolzano.

The hotel is situated in a convenient area of the old town. It’s an unusual quirky but charming hotel with a mix of new and old decor but the layout was a bit confusing and be prepared for lots of stairs to get bags up and down. Staff are very nice are always accomodating to your needs. I was given a room I wasn’t happy with and they moved me to another room. Breakfast was varied and plentiful.

My original double room for one person was nothing like the photos. It was down a steep flight of winding steps and was like a dark cavern. Luckily they had another room to move me to. Being in the old town there was noise at night till late even with the windows closed from the bar in the next street.The hotel does not offer the Guest Card for visitors for free use of the cable car and transport.

2-Nights at Goldstern

Goldstern Townhouse is one of those places that just makes you feel good from the moment you arrive. Super friendly staff and welcoming. Breakfast hits the spot...great options, fresh, and definitely a solid way to start the day. But The restaurant associated with the hotel was excellent. Hotel has a decor that is totally unique, stylish, and full of personality. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, making the space feel special and inviting. If you're looking for a great place to stay in Bolzano, this one’s a winner. Great vibes, perfect location, awesome food, and an atmosphere that sticks with you. Definitely worth checking out!

I would stay again!

A lovely restored property filled with antiques and decorated beautifully. Located in the middle of old town- easy walk from train station. Grocery stores nearby. Small frig in room.

The room was quite warm but my room faced the street so opening the windows meant street noise including some loud people at 3 am. However noise is absolutely no fault of the property. Only hand wash for toiletries.

Cozy Nest for February Visit

The staff were incredible. The Flix bus drops you at the Bolzano Sud station which is no where near the main station and there were no taxis around in the early evening. I could have taken the train to the next station, but was unfamiliar with the metro system so when I called the hotel, they called me a taxi. That was just the beginnng of a great experience that included allowing me a late check out with no charge due to a rainy day departure. Breakfast was really good, the building is so interesting architecturally and very well decorated, and the location is great.

We really liked our stay, our room was little but nice. the breakfast is also nice.

They provided only 1 still water in the mini fridge and 1 sparkling water, I would recommend to include more water. Also, the parking area (it comes with a charge of 15 EUR) is a little far from the hotel (around 500 meters) and if you have a lot of luggage, it is hard.

Very unique property every room was different. The attention to detail for the decor was incredible. Very historic building with modern facilities. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were very attentive. We had a slight problem with our air conditioning unit but it was dealt with immediately.

We stayed in room 10, which was absolutely stunning. If you stay in room 10 you have to be prepared to climb many flights of stairs to get to & from the room. It is secluded & quiet!

Most beautiful place - love!

Everything! The space, the interior design, the staff, the bed, the restaurant, the breakfast … This was seriously a surprise gem and we wished we could stay longer. We felt like we’d hit the jackpot! Just loved it and will be back again for sure. Thank you so much!!

perfect other than AC issue. I would go again but request a different room

the age of the building complete with original 600 yr old frescoes, the breakfast, it was central to old town just a short walk from the safe parking and or train station.

the air conditioning in room 2 is really poor. they know it but haven’t found a solution yet. we had two sleepless nights. otherwise everything was perfect. the hosts did offer a different room for the second night. the first night we didn’t have it on so our fault so gave it another chance but wasn’t any better when on!

This was an amazing place to stay, not only in Bolzano, but in all our years of travel. Not your typical hotel, but a historic building with amazing rooms.. I cannot recommend this place more highly!!! Thank you for an incredible stay!

Very good

Beautiful apartment with wonderful terraces! Great shower, comfortable beds, and pleasant modern decor. The apartment is very spacious. One thing to note, the second bedroom doesn't have a door to separate it from the living room with sofa bed.

We were in Bolzano for my daughter's graduation. On the day of her presentation, workers needed to access the roof through our apartment for most of the day.The crew was very professional and careful as they did their work, but it added stress to an already hectic day.

location is great. beautifully renovated old building. good breakfast. very clean.

we booked a deluxe apartment with kitchen and were given a double room with no facilities ( no table, chairs, couch, kitchen ) just a room with a bed in it & a bathroom. we werent told about this prior to arrival even though we had it booked 10 months in advance, the room rate was not reduced accordingly, we were offered breakfast included instead. we werent informed that you needed an extra ticket to get the reduced rate at the carpark ( which is further away than advertised) therefore we had to pay full price of 22euros instead of 18 euros ( per day ) the cleaner removed the card for the electricity so on returning to the room at 7pm on New Years Eve we were told that we were ‘lucky’ that someone wAs still there to get us another one. Not a great experience at this hotel, left feeling very disappointed. we were mis sold this overpriced room. If the staff were managed correctly then one might know what the other was doing.
