I had a lovely relaxing rejuvenating time

Great for location, less for chill.

The location was great. Easy access to food (non-halal) and entertainment. The room was very clean and the bed was a big king sized one. Linens were clean. Our own mistake (stated in booking) but it was a bit of a to do to pay in cash as we hadn't changed enough - Bali is notorious for unlicensed money changers who scam tourists. They were very accommodating for breakfast - letting us opt for pop mie instead of the usual bread and jam. The room was quite quiet but there was a baby crying till rather late - can't be helped.

The water pressure was very bad. The shower head was about the size of a saucer but only 3 holes had water coming out of it. The heating for this also was very sporadic - alternating between super cold and piping hot - very difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature. They also need to upkeep the pool - lots of moss. Maybe it was left this way because it was the rainy season.

Location was good; the women managing the place was friendly.

The sheet had two big blots of blood stains. The sink didn’t drain when we came in and no one around to help but my husband fixed it with some effort.

location is quite good and in central shopping area of ubud and walk-able distances to the ubud palace, central ubud market . Many restaurants and shops in the nearby location

The shower in the bathroom had very poor water flow , door latches were not working, Ac not working properly and the rooms were poorly lit .

Would return!

The location was absolutely perfect. The staff were so lovely and very accommodating. They helped book the Mt Batur Jeep Tour for us which was amazing and they also organize taxis or bikes if needed however we just ordered from the Grab app. There was breakfast included in our booking option which was dropped up to our room each morning for whatever time we specified.

The room was a little bit dirty. There was ants in the bed and also other bugs crawling on the floor. The room was cleaned every day which was lovely but I suppose you can’t stop what’s going to get in especially when staying around loads of trees and bushes. The pool area could do with a revamp and was a bit run down.

Central and quiet. It was perfect as a solo traveller.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I only stayed a couple of nights and was out most of the time. The place was quiet and pretty central. The accommodation is basic , but great value for the price.

Great accommodation, central location, staff amazing.

Breakfast we good, and brought to my room every morning. I was out for one morning as I climbed up Mt Batur and they put come fruit in my fridge for when I got back.

Not directly accessible by car so if you have a lot of bags, there is a little walk to get to the stay.

Very close to everything and was comfortable and felt homely. Super comfortable bed and was in the heart of ubud. Staff are very friendly and are always checking in with any needs that needed help with . Super awesome place and highly recommended for a special place.

Location was very close to Ubud market but very quite & close to so many shops & eating in the side alleys/streets. Some great warungs, pizza & past or traditional foods. The host family we found very friendly & always ask us if there is anything they could do for us. Very pleasant stay & would consider staying again. Aircon & shower great ..

Nothing really ….although Tea & Coffee should be in the rooms & bed & towel change after a few days. Having said that, we asked for new towels & a kettle and the host got us one straight away 🙏

Amazing stay, highly recommend

I loved my stay at Astana House. The whole vibe and atmosphere was so homely. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My room was beautiful, clean and i felt super comfortable staying there. Thank you to Desak and her amazing family, her children Mira and Mickle were also very helpful. The location is perfect, it's close to the center and the market. Highly recommend! T

Great Stay & Helpful Staff

We stayed at Astana twice, both times we visited Ubud. Both stays were great, rooms are big and location is perfect. Best thing about the guest house is the staff, they are great, really helpful and will assist with laundry and trips / transfers. Can’t recommend enough, great value for money.

The room was very humid and mouldy smell, not a place we would have stayed more than one night unfortunately. Perhaps implementing a better ventilation system could help with the problem. We think the problem was because our room was next to the pool area. Perhaps some other room would be better.

Superb

Astana House is really a wonderful place where to stay in Ubud. Situated in the town centre but really quiet and the view was really nice. Room was clean and bed really comfortable. Amenities available and towels clean. Really recommended :)

As a suggestion, it would be great having a mirror also in the room and a more powerful light on the bathroom mirror, but in general really nice stay 😊

Disappointing

The staff was very nice and the pool was nice to swim in. The location of Astana House is also very good.

The room was much smaller than on the pictures we saw on Booking.com and the bathroom was not at all clean. The walls in the bathroom were black on some parts and there were insects in the shower. There was also barely any water coming out of the showerhead.

- Great location in the centre of Ubud - Friendly staff who were very accommodating and communicated well via whatsapp over anything we needed and also extra tours and guides etc

- We found the beds to be quite uncomfortable although i appreciate this could be a personal preference - The shower pressure was absolutely terrible
