absolutely nothing
This was an extremely disappointing experience for us. After traveling 9 hours by car with a child, we finally booked our stay, only to discover a system error stating “pets not allowed.” Despite having paid in full, we were not allowed to enter the accommodation. The host was completely unreasonable and showed no empathy, essentially throwing us out like flies from soup. We were hungry, exhausted, and none of our money was refunded. A truly terrible experience.

We stepped into a very genuine, family setting. Sybille was very welcoming, and after 4 days in Paris, it felt very comforting and home-like for me and my 2 kids. Also, her english is amazing so although I speak French, I felt ok not making the effort. She made us the most gorgeous breakfast, with most of the items made from the produce grown on her farm, including a dandelion honey which was incredible. It really did surpass my expectations.
Its only a very small point, but the linen on the bed could do with an update.

Un endroit très beau

This property has been in the same family for 20 generations, over 500 years. There’s a pride of ownership that is evident. We had the use of the living room and dining room as well as our bedroom and it was charming. The homemade breakfast was out of this world. With eggs and honey and jam that were sourced on the property. We were given a wonderful recommendation for dinner that looked right at Mont Saint Michel.

The property is perfectly placed. It has a rural feel but also close to lovely restaurants and a short drive to Mont Saint Michele.

The owner was extremely helpful suggesting and booking a restaurant for us. The beds were comfortable.
Didn’t really enjoy the breakfast- some of the fruit was bad and there was no decaf. Walls are thin and though other guests children weren’t too noisy we could hear them.

Breakfast was delicious, including a variety of homemade jams, cake and a pot of custard.
With breakfast- something savoury

The building is lovely and set in amazing gardens. the hosts were so welcoming and eager to show us around and encourage our daughter to play and see all the animals. The breakfast was delightful with homemade jams and custards. Every recommendation that Sibylle gave us was fantastic and really took our stay to another level. We had planned just a couple of nights to see mont st michel but it ended up being so much more thanks to our experience with la Vieille foulonniere.

Location, nice host, typical countryside stonehouse with history, near Mont Saint-Michel.

Beautiful property with charming interiors located just 10 minutes drive from the Mont Saint Michel parking. Sybille and Than are very friendly and it was super interesting to hear about their very different family origins as well as their permaculture project! Delicious breakfast with homemade jams and cakes on top of the fresh bread and croissants. My 2 kids loved playing with the dogs. Excellent location to visit the region.

We had breakfast outside in the most beautiful setting. Our host was so kind and attentive and laid down a sweet tablecloth and had homemade breads and custard and delicious jams and honey, everything from their garden! It was delicious! One of my favorite times our whole entire trip. It was so charming!

This French farmhouse was SO charming - we enjoyed having the quiet, the parking, the views, and the proximity to Mont Saint Michel. The hosts were just lovely! They served us a breakfast with homemade bread and jams and eggs straight from their farm; you can tell they enjoy what they're doing and are excited to share this with guests!
The only opportunity we'd like to share with the hosts is the type of pillows. We are side sleepers, so we would have been more comfortable with more and firmer pillows.

Staying at La Vieille Foulonnière: Chambres d’hôtes & Permaculture was an unforgettable experience—one of those rare gems that linger in your memory long after you’ve left. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Sibylle and her lovely family, whose kindness and hospitality set the tone for a truly special visit.
The house itself is a beautifully restored 16th-century residence full of character, history, and charm. Every corner tells a story, yet the comforts are thoroughly modern and thoughtful. It’s the perfect blend of rustic elegance and relaxed countryside living.
The tranquil grounds, shared with two affectionate dogs, a happy brood of hens, and waddling ducks, create an idyllic setting straight out of a pastoral dream. Waking up to birdsong and the gentle rustle of leaves, followed by a delicious homemade breakfast crafted with love and ingredients from the garden, was the perfect start to each day.
Sibylle’s passion for permaculture and sustainable living adds a meaningful and enriching layer to the experience. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and feel part of a beautiful rhythm of life.
I left with a full heart, rested spirit, and a promise to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authenticity, peace, and genuine warmth in the French countryside.

Truly amazing place.
Breakfast was nice, though, I would rather have it less sweet.

We were so happy when we arrived and realised we found a gem! It is a beautiful, old house with character. It was refurbished with taste and respect for tradition. Old, but fresh and spotlessly clean. We had the whole floor for our family and a beautiful countryside view. I can’t remember sleeping so peacefully! Sybille was an excellent host, very organised and interested in our comfort and well-being. She prepared our breakfasts from products from her garden, so we had the opportunity to taste homemade traditional delicacies.

La vielle Foulannierre was just perfect. We loved every moment spent there. Very comfortable accommodation, delicious breakfasts, and a beautiful family as hosts. It is a very serene place, very quiet at night, and the setting is very bucolic. Nearby villages have plenty of restaurants, and this is a great base from which to visit Mont St Michel and other areas. We loved it and hope to visit again one day.

Very personal, homey feel. They make some breakfast items themselves and have a spacious, quiet property/farm - perfect for a more local, countryside feel. The hosts themselves are very friendly as well.

We like too much the old house (more than 500 years old) and the small Village where the hotel is located.
The hotel owner received and attend us in lovely way. .
She was as angel that support us very well, we are very grateful to God for including this hotel in our travel planning.

Very well located to visit the Mont Saint-Michell.
The house is rustic, according to the place, French countryside, with all the necessary accommodations.
Maybe some salty food was missing for breakfast, but what was there was very good.
