Location close to kyoto station, big malls, 7 eleven. Again full automated check in and check out, practical but not so friendly

Able to store luggage when we arrived early. Room, while small, had everything we needed. Three floors of laundry machines and the ability to see their status on the TV was fabulous. Laundry a real bonus to our stay. Also microwaves there.Location next to a convenience store was handy (despite a very rude aggressive teenage salesperson). Best of all was the location to the station with a myriad of eateries and other stores only 5 minutes' walk away.
Impersonal. Had to check in with machine while staff had to assist us anyway. Didn't feel welcoming as we were accustomed to elsewhere. Checkin was crowded and complicated. The included breakfast buffet was the same every day and offered very little for the western palate which is fine; we are in Japan after all, however the tastes were not appealing despite having eaten Japanese foods for over a month. Staff found it difficult to keep up with restocking, although their efforts were noted.

A clean place to sleep but not much more.
No bar , restaurant etc apart from breakfast. Breakfast more Asian than European - ok but not good.
