Secret Mountain Paradise

We had the most amazing stay at secret mountain paradise, we extended our stay to have more time here and would 100% return. Chavi was an amazing host, he prepared delicious varied breakfasts, did laundry for us, gave us lifts to and from town in his tuk tuk and even drove my rented tuk tuk down the steep driveway for me when i wasn’t confident on my own. We paid for him to take us up to the monastery where he personally showed us around. We booked the 3 bed room (white one, not the wooden one) which was just as beautiful as the new wooden room. It felt completely private in the middle of the jungle - we saw barking deer and porcupines from our balcony. The driveway is a bit steep but chavi will drive you up and down in his tuk tuk if requested, you can park your vehicle just one driveway up, and it’s an easy walk back to the main road for taxis. To debunk the bad reviews: water pressure and heat was just fine, you won’t get a high powered shower anywhere in mountain country! We didn’t hear sound from the monastery at all, even if we did it would have been worth it for the beautiful view of it lit up at night right from your window. The room smelled completely normal if not nice lol. Great stay, would definitely recommend.

Het plekje is fantastisch. De kamers zijn schoon. Het uitzicht fenomenaal en het ontbijt geweldig. De host is heel vriendelijk en spreekt goed engels

Het is moeilijk er te komen. Een eng weggetje voor de tuktuk en voordat je bij je huisje bent moet je een trap van autobanden met zand af en een trap van boomstammen. Dat was griezelig, dat moet je dus liggen. Je moet echt voor het donker wordt bij je kamer zijn anders zie je niets. Maar de host is zeer behulpzaam en wil alles voor je doen.

Very authentic jungle location if you want to be isolated

It is an extremely precarious route to the accommodation. A scary tuk tuk ride, can't imagine how it works if it's wetor dark ! This may be OK for some, but we felt very isolated and declined to stay there. The pictures and details do not highlight this. We felt very sad declining the stay, but it just would not have worked for us. Had the details or pictures been realistic we would not have booked. The steps to the property are very steep and unsafe. It's a long way off the road and from the town. We wish the hosts well and thanked them for their efforts. Just not suitable for us but it might be OK for others.
