About this chalet rental

The cottage built in timber-frame construction directly border our biologically conducted farm. Admist a fruit orchard and surrounded by meadows. The cottage is new, bright, comfortable , with a stylish setting and easily offer room for a family (86 sqm). Bathroom, anteroom, an open kitchen with a dinette, the living quarters with a fire place, as well as two bedrooms with balcony on the first floor – this is where one feels like home.
A spice garden in front of the cottage can also be used by our guests.
Salzburg, the Festival City, is close-by and easily approachable by public transport. Lakes and mountains in the immediate vicinity promise an unforgettable vacation.
But there is also never a dull moment at our farm. Pia, the jenny, cows, calves,
cats or pigs – they all hold out to be stroked.
This is the right place to enjoy your vacation to the full.

The Lenzenbauer’s farm cottage was an absolutely perfect option for exploring Salzburg and the surroundings. We contemplated whether to stay in Salzburg or somewhere quieter and more rural, and decided on the rural option. We could not have chosen better. Easily accessible from the city by rail or car, with just a 15 minute walk from the cottage to the rail station, we could easily get in and out of the city cheaply and easily. The cottage and grounds were immaculately kept - clean and beautiful and with the option of fresh farm produce (eggs, fruit, juices, fresh bread) purchased directly from the host’s farm store next door. Our entire family of four - including two hard-to-please young adults - loved the place and we wished we could have stayed longer.

This was a fabulous place to stay. The hosts were wonderful, readily available if needed and left wonderful little extras in our place. The locale was wonderful. We enjoyed staying in the country, with the beautiful scenery and it was an easy drive to go into Salzburg. We would highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay in this house, located in a farm. The house is perfectly arranged with everything you need. Our children spent an endless time with the farm animals, we enjoyed the organic produce they produced. The location is perfect, as it is not far from the main roads to all the places to visit. My husband and I, along with our two teenage children, had an amazing stay at this charming farm chalet. When we arrived on Christmas Eve, there was a sprinkling of snow on the ground. The lodging was just as expected and a perfect size for the 4 of us. We used the fireplace on a regular basis during our 9 day stay and regularly enjoyed fresh, homemade food from the farm - including apple cider, bread, eggs and milk. My daughter and I loved visiting the farm animals and a few morning I walked around the area, taking in the beautiful scenery. Laundry machines were located nearby, just steps from the chalet and easy to use. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed for preparing breakfast and small meals (we spent most meals with our friends in town, otherwise I'm sure the kitchen would have been completely adequate for full-regular cooked meals). Elfi was prompt to answer any questions/requests and always made sure we had what we needed. I can't say enough about this wonderful little farm, the chalet and our perfect stay there. When we come to Salzburg again, we'll be checking with Elfi to she if her Chalet is available. It was truly a home away from home for the Christmas holiday. Danke!

We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful chalet on the farm & enjoyed every moment. It was such a treat to be greeted with a plate of samples (cheese, jam, apple wine & juice) made right there on the farm. Beautifully done, comfortable & spacious more like a cabin. Elfi came by every night for our orders for fresh eggs, etc. for the following day. And it was fun to get to see & pet the animals (goats, bunnies, a newborn calf that melted my heart!). Fun for a family or a couple of retired people like us. Highly recommend!

Our family's experience was absolutely wonderful! we Enjoyed the green landscaping surrounding us. The farm itself included several different animals that our children were able to view. We enjoyed the daily breakfast goodies straight from the farm; fresh and delicious. The accommodations were clean and comfortable with well stocked amenities in the kitchen. The owner ensured that we were informed about area restaurants and activities from the start. Salzburg is close by and we enjoyed the piano and violin concert at the church as well as the many surrounding restaurants. I would highly recommend staying at this location if you are looking for a relaxing farmland type of vacation.

The chalet and surroundings are very beautiful, with outdoors to enjoy as well. The owner could not have been more helpful - when we arrived she welcomed us with homemade bread, apple juice, apple wine and cheese. As we did not have a car she drove us to the supermarket and showed us how to get to the railway station to take a train into Salzburg. I would wholeheartedly recommend the property.

An Amazing Place to Stay!

My family of 5 stayed here for a week. Out of all our trips to Europe, this was the most unique and memorable one due to this wonderful chalet. Others have already mentioned Burgi's wonderful hospitality, the amazing homemade food, the impeccable cleanliness, and the easy accessibility to Salzburg...it's all true! The highlight for my children was being able to run out the front door and visit the farm animals everyday. We were happy that we were close to Salzburg but were even happier that it was a great home base for exploring the beautiful lake districts in the area. Thank you Burgi for making our stay so wonderful!

My family of 4 stayed here and we all absolutely loved it. The house is kept perfect and is well furnished and was really big for 4 people (Could sleep a lot more).Burgi and her family helped us whenever needed and would deliver us farm fresh and delicious products every morning upon request. The house overlooks a beautiful apple orchid and mountains. On the property there are lots of animals that you can feed and pet, and if you ask she even lets you milk the cows! Thanks again for everything Burgi!

Our family of five had a wonderful time in the chalet. The property was immaculate and well equipped. Burgi was very helpful and accommodating. My husband and I were able to take a walk in the countryside, explore the village and still be really close to Salzburg. Any visitor will be able to enjoy the Austrian country life while still be close enough to town. Burgi's apple juice, butter, and bread are a special treat! Hope to go back some time.

What a great time our family of five had in Hallwag. The chalet was very comfortable and immaculately clean. Beds very comfortable and plenty of towels. The chalet is really set up as a hotel suite with a homey feel. Very accessible to Salzburg while still in the country. My husband and I took walks and explored the village. We had a sweet time and hope to go back some time. Burgi's apple juice, butter, and bread were a real treat. Thank you!

The chalet was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Burgi and her family were very charming and hospitable. We enjoyed the fresh produce from the farm which we could order and it appeared at our door the next morning. We had a tour of the barn and met the cows, the biggest pig I have ever seen, goats, chickens, ducks and rabbits. There were apple trees and a beautiful pond. The farm is organic and we enjoyed all the food, including homemade bread and jams, apple wine, bacon, butter and eggs which we could order each evening. Families with children especially would love this place. It is near to Salzburg, the salt mines, Hitler's Eagle's Nest and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. The chalet was delightful! The owner and her family live in a beautiful location, just a short drive into Salzburg. It was wonderful to be close to the city, but to be able to get away from the noise and pace of the city in the evenings. The farm is a busy place with milk cows, pigs, goats, donkeys, bunnies, ducks, etc. Families with young children would certainly enjoy staying here. The hosts are hospitable and friendly. They left a delicious plate of homemade cheeses, meats, and bread for our first morning. Guests can also arrange a meal from the tavern they operate as well. We're looking forward to going again and will tell friends about it as well. Thanks, Burgi!

This farm chalet was perfect for my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). The chalet is just as the listing described. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful and their welcoming plate of goodies and drinks were much appreciated. My family loved the barn, animals, wide open spaces, and visiting with the hosts. While staying here, we visited Salzburg, a salt mine, and Hitler's Eagles Nest. I definitely recommend this listing. It has been our favorite "Home Away" stay while living the past 2 years in Europe!

LOVED every minute we had on the farm! The chalet was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teenagers). It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed during our week long stay. The wonderful owners had farm fresh gifts for us in the kitchen... homemade apple cider and apple wine, fresh eggs, bacon & cheese. We enjoyed fresh milk delivered to our doorstep several mornings as well. The barn was so much fun to visit several times each day to pet the animals. A baby bull was born one night during our stay. There are several walking/hiking trails around the farm. Perfect for evening walks to enjoy the sunset. We enjoyed the hammock in the orchard, and a large table outside the chalet to enjoy a nice local drink in the evening as we planned our next day. It was wonderful to sit and talk with the owners. They gave us several recommendations for day trips. We visited a Salt Mine, Ice Cave, Eagle's Nest, several Sound of Music locations and many different towns. The local food, beer & wine is amazing. The location to Salzburg was perfect (10 minute drive ~ we had rental car). We took several day trips all over Austria & Germany. This was our first visit to Austria (from Texas, USA). It was perfect! My family & I hope to visit again one day.

We enjoyed our stay in the farm chalet. It was very clean and well maintained. The sampler plate, homemade cider and wine, and fresh eggs were a nice treat to arrive to and then purchase more. The kitchen had most everything needed to cook your own meals (though the skillets were a bit over-used and the coating was coming off -- these could stand to be replaced). There is only one bathroom and it is located on the bottom floor. Bedrooms are above. There is a motion-sensor light that comes on in the hallway by the bathroom -- having the light shine so brightly during middle of the night bathroom runs was a bit shocking. Burgi was very nice and accommodating. We arrived a bit earlier than expected and she was very welcoming. My FIL was along on our trip and he enjoyed discussing farm life and comparing US/Austrian farming techniques with Burgi. All in all, it was a very pleasant visit. Highly recommend.

It is such a great place to stay with your family, the chalet is absolutely charming, comfortable chalet, have nice view to the farm, reasonable price, closed to the city, me and my kids enjoyed our stay. my kids never wanted to leave the farm. My kids asked me to back again to the chalet when we moved to zell am see, we were very happy and comfortable during our stay.miss Burgi and her family were excellent hostess, we look forward to stay in one of Burgi's chalets again. Big thanks to burgi and her family.

After a fantastic vacation ... we loved our stay in the very quiet and relaxed location in Hallwang. Convenient to drive into Salzburg for the day for great food and EXCELLENT coffee! The homemade food from Burgi was delicious every morning and she made us feel so VERY welcome and comfortable. We enjoyed driving around to various places and see the beautiful Austria. You have the option to totally relax or be busy - depends on your preference. This is an excellent place for a vacation that we want to highly recommend. We suggest you have a car! Very enjoyable to talk to Austrians about football, particularly when the found out where I came from. :)

What a great place to stay! The chalet (there are two, located next to one another) was modern, comfortable and well maintained, and was on the edge of a small village overlooking an orchard and open fields. The chalet was spacious (more so than the photos indicate), and provided a wonderful base for visiting this part of Austria. Burgi was an excellent host, even speaking slowly in German so that myself and our daughter could practice our language skills ! What is not immediately clear is how much there is to do within an easy driving distance. We took the ferry on the Wolfgangsee (fantastic on a sunny day), visited the salt mine at Berchtesgaden, went walking on the Jennerberg (near Koeningsee) and then used the cable car back down, hired bikes to cycle from Bad Ischl to Stroebl, and also around the Wolfgangsee, plus also went into Salzburg. We didn't manage to visit the Hellbrun Palace, the Freilichtmuseum, Bad Reichenhall, drive across the GrossGlockner Pass or visit the Stiegl brewery at Salzburg - so lots more to do on a future visit, and we look forward to staying in one of Burgi's chalets again.

The chalet is absolutely charming and made our trip to Austria a true pleasure! The chalet is very comfortable, immaculate and in a beautiful location – and conveniently near Salzburg and many gorgeous lakes and hikes. Burgi and her family were superb hosts – making the process as simple and easy as possible, making sure we had everything we needed and delivering wonderful treats from the farm (jam, bread, cider, fresh eggs and milk). The chalet truly was a charming, restful “home away from home” for us, and we definitely want to stay there again whenever we are in Austria. It’s a gem – thank you, Burgi!

My husband and I took our grandchildren to Europe this summer and this working farm was one of the places we stayed....It could not have been better! The children loved the animals and the farm setting, it was very safe and we felt we could let them play with no concerns The owners were so warm and gracious to us, there food is all raised on the farm and excellent. The house was amazing very spacious with everything you could possibly need. I would recommend this place to everyone, it was just perfect in every way..
