About this house rental

Beachfront. This is a beautiful beachfront retreat, new and modern. It has been architecturally designed to appear as an iconic New Zealand bach, at one with its secluded tranquil setting. We invite you to come and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views across gardens to Coopers Beach and Doubtless Bay. It is both private and quiet, on its own section with its very own beach access. Enjoy all day sun from the north facing deck. Well appointed and fully furnished, the Black Bach is self-contained with its own BBQ area. A short walk along the beach to the local Four Square, butchery and fish and chips. This is an idyllic spot for summer and winter retreats, and is a perfect honeymoon destination. A good central base to explore the Far North. Swim, fish, and listen to the sounds of the birds and the waves. "A little slice of paradise with Tuatuas on the side".

Fresh tuatuas from beach in front of the bach, mussels from rocks at Cable Bay, and fresh snapper from out in the Bay; even sunbathed in winter... how awesome is that!! Hugh and Sue were wonderful hosts, this place is a must for rest and relaxation!!"

Amazing views and direct access to a beautiful beach, which is bordered on each end by reserve areas with trails, pa sites and more great views.The house was clean and attractive, well-stocked, had very nice bedding, and I had a very comfortable stay.The owners are just lovely, and obviously put lots of this love into this holiday house.

We only had two nights here but wish that we'd had a week. The guest book had comments from people who'd stayed here 16 times! And to be honest, we were not surprised. Sue and Hugh's bach is lovely - spotlessly clean, very well equipped and just so comfortable. Our sightseeing plans went out the window, we stayed home and enjoyed simply being there, gazing at the sea, walking down through the gorgeous garden to the beach. Our hosts could not have been nicer. Absolutely recommend this place, it was one of the highlights of our time in New Zealand.

This was my third stay going back a number of years now and I wanted to stay at the Bach again as we were going to be in the region and I knew we would not be disappointed with the accommodation and we were not. Sue and Hugh made us welcome as they have done in the past and we can only hope the Bach will be around a lot long to continue to give guests a lot of pleasure.

An independent beachfront bach, with all mod cons and amazing sea views. The whole of the front is made of balcony doors that open up towards the sea. There is a short footpath leading to the beach which is full of Pohutukawa trees. If you go around Christmas when they are in full bloom, you will see some spectacular colours.

This property is the perfect getaway. Amazing views, sunsets and sunrises, fishing off the beach and lots of lovely walks. Mounganui was excellent for food and a bit of shopping! The bach had everything we needed and Sue and Hugh were friendly and accommodating. It is perfect for a family of 4! 3 humans 1 furry haha. Booked to go back for my 8 year old birthday the morning we were leaving. I feel revived after our trip. Highly recommend thanks Sue and Hugh see you both in a few months time!

Sue is such a friendly and gracious host offering a very well-appointed and comfortable bach. Our long weekend away was made perfect by choosing this location to stay. The sun drenched living room and bedroom made it difficult to leave to see the local sights as there is such a feeling of comfort and relaxation here. We will definitely be back!
