About this bed and breakfast

Country house separated from the village by a narrow (but passable with a van or SUV), short and steep road. Very quiet and peaceful. Charming country house near Lake Maggiore and Laveno (5 km) and about twenty kilometres from Varese.
The house is on two levels, was renovated in 2012: On the ground floor there is the kitchen and bathroom, upstairs the bed and a living room.
The top of the hill, where the church of San Clemente is located - attested since the 13th century and from where you have a magnificent view of the Gulf of Laveno and Lake Maggiore - can be reached from Sangiano; from behind the house you can reach the Balconata Picuz.
There are cycle paths between Laveno and Comabbio and around Lake Varese (26 km). In spring and summer a boat connects Laveno to Santa Caterina del Sasso. Villa Della Porta Bozzolo and the 'painted village' Arcumeggia can be reached in less than ten minutes. But you can simply relax in the garden, have lunch or dinner in the cradle of tranquillity.

We had such a lovely stay in the serene hillside house. Stefania was a lovely host (she lives in the house next door) who was very communicative. The large gardens and outdoor shower were magical. The drive up the lane is steep and narrow but you get used to it. Perfect place if you’re looking to get away from the hustle bustle and relax

On first arriving our impression was Wow, the garden to this property is simply amazing and so private. The cottage is very well equipped and has all you could possibly need. It is an attractive unorthodox space and I would just mention to be aware that the stairs up to the bedroom are steep. We adapted to these very quickly though but worth a mention for anyone who struggles with stairs. The surrounding area is very attractive and lots of places to eat and shop. We would go back for sure.

Wunderschön ruhig gelegene Fereinwohnung mit ausnehmend angenehmen Gastgebern. Die Lage ist auch sehr gut in Bezug auf Ausflüge zum Lago Maggiore und zum Lago di Varese. Nach Laveno sind es nur rund 10 km, und von dort kann man auch bequem auf die andere Seite des Lago Maggiore übersetzen. Die Unterkunft ist perfekt, für Leute, die es abends und morgens ruhig mögen, aber nicht so abgelegen, dass man ewig zu den Seen und seenahen Städten braucht. Die Auffahrt zur Ferienwohnung ist allerdings nichts für breite SUVs.

La porzione di un casale ristrutturato nell'essenziale, adornato all'interno da oggetti demodé ma intriganti nella loro eterogeneità gozzaniana. Profumo di storia, in parte vissuta ma di gran lunga narrata da libri racchiusi in scansie malcelate alla curiosità dell'ospite. Unico consiglio: una completa recinzione garantirebbe maggiore tranquillità a chi soggiorna con il cane.

We had a wonderful holiday in Steffanias beautiful house. She is a very kind and helpful host, and gave us many informations about the region. The house is placed in a wonderful garden, it is very quiet and CALM. We loved to sit in the garden and its easy to find a place in the shadow. The nearest town is Laveno and it is ten minutes drive away. It is a nice town. We loved Reno's Beach, there is not crowded expect from sundays. We can recommened the beautiful walk to sacro monte de Varese, we had never seen anything like it👌👌we can reallly recommened everything, we would love to Come back. Especislly to see Steffania and Corrado again💓

Wir hatten einen wundervollen erholsamen Urlaub. Unsere Gastgeber waren super nett, wir hatten schöne gemeinsame Abende mit gutem Wein und leckerem Essen, auch unser Hund war willkommen. Ein rundum entspannter Urlaub in einer romatischen gut umgebauten Scheune. Das Grundstück ist riesig und gut gepflegt. Vielen Dank an Stefania und Corado für ihre Gastfreundschaft. Io ed il mio compagno abbiamo soggiornato in questa deliziosa casa la prima settimana di agosto 2016. La casa è accogliente e dotata di tutto quel che occorre per trascorrere una piacevolissima vacanza di relax. Il punto forte è il giardino dove si possonpo trascorrere momenti di dolce far nulla fra una visita e l'altra nei ditorni, e dove è piacevole mangiare....la sera anche a lume di candela. Ma la vera ricchezza è l'accoglienza e l'ospitalità di Ketty, Stefania e Corrado e le premure di Antonio che hanno reso indimenticabile i giorni trascorsi insieme. Ancora un grazie e un abbraccio caloroso a tutti voi.

Eine wunderbare Woche!

Ein wunderschönes Haus in einem tollen Garten oberhalb von Caravate, wirklich wie schon geschrieben ein kleines Paradies. Sehr schön eingerichtet, nahezu perfekt ausgerüstete Küche, schöne Plätze zum draußen sitzen und ein schnelles WLAN gibt es auch. Die nächste sehr schöne Badestelle am Lago (Arolo) ist keine 5 km entfernt, mit Hund fährt man besser nach Calde was ein wenig weiter ist. Man kann ganz gut wandern, und es gibt in unmittelbarer Nähe sehr viel zu besichtigen, Varese lohnt sich. Am besten aber hat uns die Gastfreundschaft und die sehr herzliche Betreuung durch die Vermieterin vor Ort gefallen, Italienischkenntnisse sind von Vorteil aber es geht auch ohne, bzw. die Verwandtschaft hilft ( E+ F). Wir und unser Hund haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen das Ferienhaus gerne weiter.

Wir haben eine rundum gelungene Woche an diesem wunderschönen Ort verbringen dürfen. Es war einfach perfekt, super Wetter, wunderschönes Haus, tolle Landschaft und die nettesten Menschen, die man sich vorstellen kann, durften wir als Vermieter kennenlernen. Auch für unsere Hündin war diese Woche ein absoluter Traum. Wir kommen wieder!!!

Nous avons passé une semaine de rêve dans l'adorable grange aménagée de Ketty. La maison est est meublée avec beaucoup de goût, le jardin est merveilleux, c'est vraiment un petit coin de paradis. Ketty a été adorable avec nous, ainsi que Stefania, sa fille, qui parle un excellent français, et son gendre Corrado. Ils nous ont épaté par leur connaissance de la culture française, et on a eu plein de discussions vraiment enrichissantes. A partir de la maison, on peut rayonner vers les Lacs, et même jusqu'à Milan en train facilement. On recommande chaudement cette destination, et on espère avoir l'occasion de revenir!

So eine romantische Unterkunft hatten wir ja noch nie! Ein riesiger gepfelgter Garten und eine total romantische Scheune, echt toll. Wir wissen will was Gastfreundschaft ist, der sollte hier her kommen. Obwohl die Gastgeberin kein Deutsch und wir kein Italienisch gesprochen haben lief alles Bestens. Am An und am Abreisetag stand uns Stefanie zum Dolmetschen zur Verfügung. Antonio hat uns fast jeden Tag frische Croissant gebracht, und das bei selbstverpflegung! Die Ausstattung der Scheune ließ keine Wünsche offen. Egal ob "normale"oder italienische Kaffeemaschine alles war vorhanden. Vielen Dank nochmal für den tollen Urlaub und die wunderschöne Zeit!!!! Il y a des endroits où l'on se promet de revenir et des personnes que l'on souhaite fortement revoir Nous avons exaucé cette envie en retournant un an après à Caravate Nous avons été une nouvelle fois sensibles à l'accueil de nos hôtes, présents et discrets, impressionnés par leur grande connaissance de notre pays, la France : sa langue, sa culture, sa gastronomie, ses faits de société, ce qui a permis des échanges enrichissants,nune meilleure connaissance de la culture italienne, une initiation ludique de la langue Nous avons retrouvé avec plaisir le " petit nid douillet " décoré avec soin et beaucoup de goût Nous avons enrichi également notre connaissance de la région en empruntant le bateau pour visiter les îles Borromées et le pittoresque train qui relie Domodossola à Locarno en Suisse Nous sommes repartis en nous promettant d'exaucer cette fois le dicton : " Jamais 2 sans 3 "

Io e il mio compagno abbiamo trascorso la settimana di fine agosto 2014 in questa splendida "casetta", pulita, accogliente e dotata di tutti i comfort. Ketty, Stefania e Corrado ci hanno accolto e fatto sentire parte della famiglia rendendo la nostra vacanza davvero speciale. La cortesia e gentilezza di Antonio hanno reso le nostre colazioni "golose".Per chi ama la tranquillità, la libertà, la buona compagnia accompagnata da un buon bicchiere di vino...questo è il posto ideale!! Ideale per coppie "non scoppiate" o che "vogliono ritrovarsi". Grazie di tutto!!

Maison charmante dans un environnement calme. Décoré avec toute l'âme de gens soucieux d'accueillir au mieux leurs hôtes, ce petit appartement est idéal pour se sentir comme chez soi. Très bon séjour, malgré un temps moyen. L'accueil est très sympathique. Merci à Stefania pour sa très bonne pratique du Français et à Ketty pour sa gentillesse pendant nos 4 jours. La casa è stata la scelta perfetta per il nostro capodanno, vista stupenda, calda e accogliente è l'ideale punto di partenza per delle belle passeggiate (consigliamo di raggiungere la chiesetta si San Clemente, panorama fantastico!), con la macchina invece si arriva in pochi minuti sul lago maggiore (consigliamo di visitare Laveno). Ottima l'ospitalità della proprietaria e del cane Leone (detto Leo), ci siamo sentiti come a casa!

Very nice apartment with a lot of necessary features and kitchen equipment. The décor is only topped by the lovingly well-kept garden and the charming hostess and their family. They helped us with words and deeds for a perfect stay and give us a feeling of being at home. 5 stars are not enough tor rate our stay! Sehr schönes kleines Apartment umgeben von einem großen und gepflegten Garten. Die umfangreiche und liebevolle Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Besitzerin kümmert sich herzlich und unaufdringlich um ihre Gäste, und steht mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Ein sehr schöner und entspannter Aufenthalt ging leider zu schnell vorbei!
