About this bed and breakfast
Country house separated from the village by a narrow (but passable with a van or SUV), short and steep road. Very quiet and peaceful. Charming country house near Lake Maggiore and Laveno (5 km) and about twenty kilometres from Varese.
The house is on two levels, was renovated in 2012: On the ground floor there is the kitchen and bathroom, upstairs the bed and a living room.
The top of the hill, where the church of San Clemente is located - attested since the 13th century and from where you have a magnificent view of the Gulf of Laveno and Lake Maggiore - can be reached from Sangiano; from behind the house you can reach the Balconata Picuz.
There are cycle paths between Laveno and Comabbio and around Lake Varese (26 km). In spring and summer a boat connects Laveno to Santa Caterina del Sasso. Villa Della Porta Bozzolo and the 'painted village' Arcumeggia can be reached in less than ten minutes. But you can simply relax in the garden, have lunch or dinner in the cradle of tranquillity.

Superb host! Our stay in Caravate was truly unforgettable. The property is a beautifully remodeled barn, where every detail has been carefully thought out to create an atmosphere that is both warm and functional. Inside, everything was impeccably furnished, combining modern comfort with rustic charm in the most tasteful way.The grounds surrounding the barn are wide, tranquil, and dotted with fruit trees, making it a peaceful place to relax and unwind. While the house itself doesn’t open directly to expansive views, a short and pleasant trail walk from the property rewards you with stunning vistas over the surrounding hills and countryside. This balance between quiet seclusion and easy access to breathtaking scenery made our stay feel very special.We loved the calmness of being up on the hilltop, enjoying the plain grounds shaded by fruit trees, and then being able to take a quick stroll to soak in the beauty of the panorama. It’s the kind of place that offers the best of both worlds — comfort and serenity at home, with nature’s beauty just steps away.An ideal choice for anyone looking for peace, relaxation, and a beautifully crafted stay in Caravate.

We had such a lovely stay in the serene hillside house. Stefania was a lovely host (she lives in the house next door) who was very communicative. The large gardens and outdoor shower were magical.
The drive up the lane is steep and narrow but you get used to it. Perfect place if you’re looking to get away from the hustle bustle and relax

On first arriving our impression was Wow, the garden to this property is simply amazing and so private.
The cottage is very well equipped and has all you could possibly need. It is an attractive unorthodox space and I would just mention to be aware that the stairs up to the bedroom are steep. We adapted to these very quickly though but worth a mention for anyone who struggles with stairs.
The surrounding area is very attractive and lots of places to eat and shop.
We would go back for sure.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans la charmante maison de Stefania, qui nous a réservé un excellent accueil (en français). Le jardin est très agréable, parfait pour passer du temps à l’extérieur.
