Clean/good location but the hostel owner's behavior was alarming and predatory towards female patron

It was a clean facility. Location was within walking distance of many restaurants and tourist spots.

When attending a social event at the hostel, the hostel owner was overbearing and predatory especially regarding presenting alcohol to myself and my friends. After taking some drinks from him I became completely inebriated losing memory for multiple hours of the night. I have never experienced such a sudden turn of my state. Luckily my friends were nearby to keep me safe, but later on in the night my friends had to repeatedly tell the hostel owner to leave us alone. I would fear for solo female travelers staying in this hostel.

The best stayed

I could say it’s the best hostel! I stayed there in September for 5 days, and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were really helpful, especially one guy (I don’t remember his name), but he was so kind! I caught a cold during the trip, and he helped me out and even gave me some medicine — I wasn’t expecting that at all. Highly recommend!! 🌟

Great place and great value.

Very clean and well organized. Each bed has a curtain for privacy and a plug-in. Boris is an instant friend to everyone, and the nightly socializing in the lobby was fun.

Clean, easy check in and check out.

The spaces in all the areas are really narrow, no comfy place to organize your backpack, or change clothes. The bathroom during morning hours was crowded.

I loved everything! Very organized and clean, with plenty of space to store my personal belongings! Easy access to anywhere. I highly recommend it to my friends and can't wait to go back! Just book it! :) and happy days!!

Best hostel in Split

- staff - Boris and his team are very helpful on places to visit / local tips and spend time socialising with guests - location - central location with easy access to city centre / coast / restaurants, etc - room - very clean, well kept, modern fittings and fixtures - lobby - big sofas with card games, space to chill and meet people in day / evening

Would recommend. Great location!

The location doesn’t get any better than this: on the edge of the old town: 5 mins walk to the sea; 2 mins to a supermarket and bakery. Dorms have a lot of beds, but were quiet when I stayed. Bunks are the type that have privacy curtains, chests on wheels with locks to store luggage etc in, a charging port and individual light - great! My mattress was comfy and linen nice and white and clean. Towel was included. The hostel is extremely clean. Dorms are cleaned daily. Aircon good. WiFi good. Women on reception are helpful and very friendly! Front door is locked and requires a code so it felt safe and I would happily have taken them up on the offer of storing my luggage there after checkout. 15% discount offer at local cafe was very appreciated!

I nearly didn’t book this hostel because I was put off by some of the extremely rude replies to customer reviews by the owner. Don’t let this put you off! In reality, this is a friendly, well-run place to stay. The shared area is by far the smallest I’ve known of any hostel. It consists of a sofa and 3 seater breakfast bar in the reception area. This is also where there is a kettle and toaster on a work top. There is no kitchen/eating area and I did not feel able to make food / eat food anywhere at this hostel. Worth knowing if you’re on a budget!

Clean hostel with good Accommodations. You have a big draw to put your stuff in. Nice showers. The staff is also really friendly. Location is a 10, everything is nearby.

Solo split trip

Great hosts who were very helpful, fridge tea and coffee in common area, curtains lockers and usb by bed.

It was great having curtains on the beds for a little more privacy. The team there and vibe of the whole hostel was great. Having a smaller communal area meant we all spent time together. There was also complimentary tea, coffee and some shower supplies. Cleanest hostel I have stayed in!

Best Hostel in Split!

If you’re travelling to Split then Gravitas Hostel is where you need to stay. From arriving on my first day to my last, Boris was accomodating, friendly and super helpful! The hostel itself is probably one of the cleanest I’ve seen and the dorms are great too. The beds are super comfy, have privacy curtains, a bed light & charging ports. Also you get a massive draw with a key to store all your luggage which is a massive bonus. Location wise, it’s perfect, 5 minute walk from all the hotspots in Split. I could not recommend this hostel enough, you can really tell how much care and love Boris puts into the place! 5 stars all round!

An unforgettable stay in the heart of Split— safe, cozy, clean, and full of charm.

Gravitas Hostel was absolutely incredible! The space was spotless, stylish, and designed for comfort and privacy even in a shared setting. The beds were super cozy, with personal charging ports and curtains for added privacy. Boris was incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready to give great recommendations for exploring Split. All the other travelers were extremely friendly. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the Old Town and all the main attractions.

Honestly, there was nothing to complain about. Everything was clean, organized, and exceeded expectations. If I had to nitpick, I’d say I wish I could have stayed longer!

Nice hostel

Great place if you want to stay close to old town. Very modern and new. There's a very cheap restaurant nearby, called Index, and nice coffee places, even though expensive. A general suggestion to guests, if you're going to islands, check all timetables of all ferries before you start booking, a few islands are connected by ferry olny once a week. In this hostel we were told we can do island hopping, we booked the first one and went, only to find out the next planned ferry goes once a week, and we had to return to Split and missed out on Vis. So yes, the host gives great advice, but verify timetables yourself early.

The room has many beds so i imagine in high season there will be a lot of snoring.

Fun, friendly, communal living

Fantastic social vibes, support from friendly staff who genuinely care for each visitor. Easy to use facilities, and very positive communal vibes.

The host. He was absolutely amazing and helped me out with everything i needed. Tours, recommendations, extensions of my stay, which i did A LOT. He made me feel very safe on my solo trip in the Balkans! Boris is truly a hero without a cape.

Almost everything, the crew was awesome, super friendly and helpful. There is big cabins with the lock under your bed. I met a lot of great people in the lobby. I really enjoyed staying in this hostel. I definitely recommend it.

Male bathroom is small, it is a bit of a challenge to pass each other.

Location was great right at the edge of the old town.

Two large rooms with lots of bunk beds (around 20 people per room) caused a lot of traffic during the night. Common room insufficiently sized.

Boris the owner and Nicol are super friendly and helpful with questions and problems. It’s clean, nearby the city centre and you can also book tours there. Also I loved the people I met here

It’s a great hostel, but if bunk beds is not your thing go get yourself a different place. The top bed does move when the bottom person keeps rolling around in his sleep. Other than that a great stay

Wonderful hostel

Gravitas Hostel is the perfect place to be if you are willing to travel and meet other people. The spirit of the hostel is to have a chat with people from all other the world in the main room and this is how I met wonderful people that I will not forget. Boris and Christina are such great hosts, they know everything about the city, where to eat, to visit, to have a good night time, etc. They even became friends to me in the end. The facilities are super clean and the lockers are big enough to contain all of your bags. I would definitely recommend you to get there!

Fun, social, cheap and cheerful.

The hostel had great vibes, lots of young travellers and Boris the owner was really helpful. It has everything you need and you can make sure your belongings are secure.

If you’re planning to cook for yourself theres not a fully equipped kitchen just kettle etc. Small towels provided.
