Absolutely brilliant experience at the Ty Newport. The room and facilities were gorgeous, the Ty+ lounge facilities on the 3rd floor were a cherry on the cake, free wine, olives, nuts and so much more. Super friendly staff and excellent room service and breakfast. Also, the air conditioning was perfection in this heat. We would highly recommend and will certainly be staying again 🙌💕

We love staying here and have stayed several times over the last 2 months as hubby works away so these are date nights, this stay however was not what we expected, to start with our room lost the lights to the bathroom etc, my hubby suffers anxiety and this stressed him out, I called reception and Brenda who is absolutely fantastic ,came and double checked and then we were moved from ground floor to the 3rd floor with extra benefits, this was a pleasant move and despite it being a massive inconvenience, we were treated well and enjoyed the new room very much. Brenda and 2 other male staff members at reception were extremely helpful and we were very grateful,Previously I've ordered food at the bar and taken it to the room as food options are more extensive at the bar than room service, I've ALWAYS been offered for the food to be brought to the room which I have always kindly declined, however this time I asked if it could be brought to the room and I'd pay the room service charge and a tip, but was refused, I was made to book a table in an empty bar to get a promotion which I've never had to do previously as the promotion is subject to availability NOT subject to booking , a female staff member was very awkward with me, I requested a tray to carry the food up to the third floor myself only to be given a small black drinks tray which was smaller than the plate that was on it, after struggling with the plates and the lift buttons and doors etc, I came back to order the rest of the food and had to wait 20 minutes for a pizza, bread basket ( awful bread by the way) stuffed peppers ( cold and brimming with oil, was expecting fresh stuffed peppers not jared) this was brought out on 2 massive plates, no tray as requested twice for this food, pizza plate was scalding hot and burnt my hand, there were loose pots of balsamic vinegar and oil which spilt all over my dress and is now ruined the oil stain won't come out. I've had to use burn cream on my hand after coming home, while carrying the pizza and bread through the foyer it was packed with guests checking in that made me feel embarrassed and stressed because I was wearing the vinegar and oil and trying to hold a plate that was burning my hand, and all because a female staff member gave me the distinct impression she hated me and I was beneath her , I will never order from the bar or restaurant again if she is the one taking the orders etc, on the plus side I can't thank the breakfast staff enough for their service, they are always polite and attentive and go above and beyond for guests, even after this awful experience we still enjoy staying here, but that's down to a select few staff members only, if they weren't doing such a fantastic job then we wouldn't return at all
