    Right in the heart of the city, cozy and clean. Simple but has everything I needed for a short business trip!

    The hotel is central to so many things, making it a good home base (you should be out in the city!). The facility and room are clean and tidy, but there were some maintenance issues: leaky sink pipes, flat sheet used as fitted sheet, dripping radiant heater, and the toilet flusher was on its last legs

    It was definitely not what I expected but overall not too bad, it’s a shared bathroom with pretty well centralized . Not too far away from major attractions and close to trolleys and bus routes.

    Initially booked the Union Square plaza hotel that reservation was cancelled at the last minute by agoda. They recommended The Herbert hotel and wanted to just transfer the 8 night reservation. I noted that on Agoda's website The Herbert was several hundred dollars less for the same number of nights. Since Agoda could not just refund the difference and the reservation was cancelled on short notice, they offered to fully refund the initial reservation and issue a few hundred dollar Agoda credit to be used for the new reservation I would used to make at the Herbert. Upon checking in at The Herbert I went to the room and it smelled strongly of urine. I returned to the front desk and requested another room. They informed my no other room was available. So they agreed to refund the entire stay as they were unable to provide another adequate room. I returned the key and was told it would take a few days to for the refund to be issued. When I didn't receive the refund and prior to when the 8 night reservation would have ended I contacted agoda and gave them the same information. Most importantly, though I did check in, the room wasn't clean and smelled strongly of urine. The hotel could not provide another room and agreed to issue a refund. So I checked out and didn't spend one night at the hotel. Agoda did not address the issue other then to send an invoice. Currently I'm out nearly $500 cash and the several hundred dollars Agoda cash for a hotel I didn't stay at, was told would be refunded and would have never booked had agoda not recommended
