I do not understand how this hotel has received such high ratings. Our room had a strong sewage or swamp-gas odor that persisted throughout our stay.
The furnishings and finishes were dated, worn, and unclean: stained furniture, dirty carpet, frayed couch fabric, rotting floor trim, and generally tired appointments that appeared poorly maintained.
Our room was located in the attic and included a lofted bed area, which was not disclosed in advance. Access to the bed required navigating very steep stairs, and the bathroom was located on the main level rather than near the bed. While the bed itself was comfortable and the linens were good quality, the layout was impractical.
Parking is also inconvenient, with the garage located approximately 0.3 miles from the hotel.
Overall, the condition of the room and lack of transparency about the layout made the stay disappointing and did not align with the hotel’s rating.
