Puri Raya Villa

The location is peaceful just outside of the center of Ubud, but close enough to activities. The staff were very friendly, beautiful views, and good food.

Maybe unavoidable but lots of bugs! Just be prepared.

This is one of those places that you're not going to forget easily. It was paradise. We rented out the two private villas for 3 days and loved every second of it. The nature around is so beautiful, pulling the curtain in the morning and seeing the rice fields with palm trees scattered around. Beautiful flowers and plants are everywhere. The pool is surrounded by nature, it's very clean and it was a pleasure to go for a dip or sunbathe. All the staff was lovely, everyone was super welcoming, always very responsive to messages and ready to help out. A delicious breakfast is prepared on site every day at whatever time it suits you. A choice of nasi goreng or pancakes or eggs and bacon with juice and tea/coffee. Lunch and dinner can also be cooked on request at very affordable prices, make sure you give some notice as they need to source all ingredients. Laundry for 20k/kg is also available.

Very minor recommendations: It would be good if a small bed light was added to the room. WiFi password shown in the booklet should be updated to the correct one.

Service, views from the Villa over the rice terraces and jungle. breakfast, meals and coffee were very good. The staff is so helpful and nice.

Stairs slippery in rain, must be careful. They treat the stairs, but still be careful. A bit of damp build up in the bathroom, expected in a tropical climate.

The rice fields are very nice. The views especially in the sunset are spectacular.

I didn’t have a chance to really stay at the Villa. After I just arrived I felt the musty smell in the bathroom. Then I saw the big black ants on the floor in the room and also on my bed. I realized that the slide doors separating me from the jungle didn’t reach the floor, so basically they protect you neither from insects nor from snakes. I went through the property and saw a snake crossing my way almost at once. I couldn’t stay there. Luckily the owner let me reduce my time in the property and was very nice and understanding. It’s really for the brave people:) and I won’t recommend staying there if you’re alone. There’s even no reception where you can go if anything happens. Also it’s really really far away from Ubud, from any restaurants. I didn’t want to be in the center and was looking for something more remote and secluded, but this was too much.
