Sirmione-a gem off the beaten path
Our host Anna was fantastic. We were running late due to an accident and she was patient and waited for us. She gave us the lay out of the property which I will say is probably fantastic when it's warmer as it has a lovely back area with large outdoor dining table and private green area; a pool and a beautiful park right next to the property which we couldn't use because it was a bit chilly. The apartment itself was very nice and perfect for a family or 3 couples. Plenty of room, a full kitchen and nice living room area. Underground garage felt safe and nice to be able to drive right up to the apartment. This was my families first time here and they loved the area. We did a day trip to a nearby town by boat and also took a full day of exploring Sirmione from the shops, piazza's, little streets that led to the beach area, to the ruins at the top of the hill. Sirmione has always been one of my favorite places since my childhood and it still holds it's charm as it did 40 years later. I would highly recommend two places to eat, for Pizza, fish and pasta dishes that were all wonderful, I would go to San Vito Ristorante Pizzeria Sirmione Via Lucchino, 2, 25019 Sirmione BS, Italy. The staff were so wonderful to us that we went there twice; once for lunch and once for dinner. For a wonderful breakfast and experience I would highly recommend Integrale Breakfast & Restaurant at Via Colombare, 96, 25019 Sirmione BS, Italy.
My husband and I stayed on the top floor bedroom and were very comfortable, however the family members that stayed on the bottom floor felt a little claustrophobic because it was a lower level with no sight to the outside and the air did not circulate as well as it did upstairs. They couldn't keep the windows open due to mosquitos. This would not stop us from staying here again, but it should be noted in case that is an issue for people with spacial issues.
