Southsea, Beach and Beauty Lodges

The location was excellent to the beach and walking distance to nearest pub/restaurant. The owner met us with the keys and code for the gates, she also let us in earlier than expected which was a bonus. Neighbours were friendly and helpful. The accommodation has plenty of space in the main living area although a lot bedroom space had been taken up with additional sheets & bedding which if you were staying longer may have been a problem, however this may have been only a temporary issue.

The shower in the main bathroom was dodgy and would not turn on or off easily. It was a hot weekend when we went and it would have been ideal to have a large parasol on the decking but it had broke and had not been replaced.

Perfect in every way for our siblings reminiscing trip for a special birthday.

Very comfortable, modern, and spotlessly clean lodge with everything we needed. Great location - quietly situated in a corner of the park and just a 5-minute walk to the beach. Easy journey along seafront to Portsmouth Harbour area which includes a cycle lane which is great if you have bikes. The outside decking, free wi-fi, adjacent parking, and two bathrooms were real highlights. Alex, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely recommend this lodge and are already planning to return.

The lodge was in a great location, nice and quiet - although it was late December. There is plenty of space for four people. The lounge has a very good amount of seating and it is very comfortable. The shower in the main bathroom is very good. The kitchen is mostly well equipped. Parking for two cars was a great bonus as we stayed with friends who had to bring another car. The WiFi and Smart TV both worked very well.

Unfortunately a number of things spoiled our enjoyment of the property, the main one was the smell of dog (very strongly) in the lounge and the main passageway to the bedrooms. Dog hair was also present on the carpets. I understand that this is a pet friendly property but surely the extra charge is used to clean up after they have visited? We opted to wash all of the cutlery, crockery and cookware after finding dirty plates and pans in the cupboards. There were only a few usable glasses, luckily we'd brought some with us. Some cupboard and drawer doors had loose facings. The cooker only had three usable rings, one had been stuffed with paper. The ensuite shower head would not stay up on its own and the plug in the main bathroom sink had jammed closed. I appreciate that it is right at the end of the year but this chalet would have been so much nicer with some TLC and decent cleaning.
