Provided a pleasant, comfortable stay after a 15 hour air flight.

The location was very convenient. The motel was very quiet which we appreciated. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Only one of us was awake in time to enjoy breakfast, but he said it was very good.

Very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express!

Honestly, my husband and I booked a hotel in a different city a few months prior to when we needed it... After looking at reviews for that other hotel I decided it was wise to book somewhere else. So we landed here! They were able to book us a room last minute with a king sized bed, chaise lounge chair, a large bathroom, desk, floor length mirror, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and lots of closet space (if you would need to use it, which we did not, it was just worth noting haha). The staff was super helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. They went so far as to help us with dinner recommendations since we had never been anywhere near this hotel. There was no smoking or anything weird allowed in our particular room which was so nice, and I could tell that they cared about the cleanliness of the rooms. I ALWAYS check for bedbugs and other unwelcome pests in hotel rooms, and I am happy to report that there were ZERO signs of any sort of bug: ants, bedbugs, flea, etc. The complimentary breakfast was quite delicious and even though we got down to the diner late, the food was still fresh. They offered bacon, cheese omelets, turkey sausage, pancakes, muffins, danish, bagels, toast, breakfast potato cubes, several different options of juices, yogurt, and milks in a small fridge. They also offered a full hot tea bar, and a hot coffee bar. The dining area was very comfortable and welcoming, and the News was on softly in the background. The parking area was kind of small for a hotel, but just large enough to have plenty of space between us and the next car. The hallways were very tidy and smelled clean. The elevators work well and you could barely tell when you went from level to level, it was so smooth! Overall a very nice experience at the Holiday Inn Express!

The only two things we didn't like, but are easy fixes were that the AC /fan unit in the room seemed to work fine BUT there was this very annoying noise that occurred at the most random times, so it was hard to fall asleep without it making a "pattern noise". If you like sleeping with no noise at all, you won't have to worry about it, but if you have struggles sleeping WITHOUT one, maybe bring a white-noise maker with you just in case. The second thing was that the bed was comfortable, but the PILLOWS were not so much... They are labeled on the end of the pillow case if they're "soft" or "firm" but they all seemed firm to me. Again, if these sound like they'd bug you, may want bring your own fan and pillows. Otherwise, no complaints!

Very nice facility. Not a 5-Star nor intended to be, but at the price an exceptional place.

With exception of room service NOT servicing our room or leaving amenities while we were gone (a lot- e.g., coffee, clean towels, etc.), we thought the facility was outstanding including one of the better continental breakfasts we have had as world travelers. Front desk staff very nice and very friendly as well as helpful.

It was clean, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and the staff kept it flowing with coffee and food. Everything they had to offer never ran out. Beds and bedding were clean comfortable and room was nice and cool when we arrived. Will definitely stay here again

breakfast fail.

my son looked forward to eating pancakes for breakfast there (he will not eat meat or eggs) and their pancake machine was out of order the entire 3 day stay. The worst part is, it wasn't broken, they said they were out of batter! Why wouldn't they buy more batter? There was a baseball tournament this weekend and tons of kids and there is zero excuse to not make the effort to secure more batter for all these kids and families that chose your hotel. They didnt even try. I am not sure when they 'ran out' but there was none Friday morning and still none Sunday morning and part of the reason I chose this hotel was for the free breakfast--WITH PANCAKES.

I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express and Suites as a good place to stay.

It was comfortable and the breakfast was good. There were several selections to choose from, but the food could’ve been warmer. The staff were friendly and polite and extremely helpful. We will stay here again. We also liked that there were amenities in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.).

One of the elevators was broken and the laundry was out of order.

A gem in the Merrillville area.

The manager was wonderful and went above and beyond when I asked for another blanket and toothbrushes. We were given an accessible room which I greatly appreciated as I needed a taller toilet, etc.

Nice location, but disappointing amenities

We arrived at the hotel after traveling for 13 hours. The pool wasn't in operation, which was the main reason for choosing this hotel, the room was nice and large, but dirty. Breakfast didn't start until 7:30, which was later than we wanted to leave.

Final goodbye and homecoming for father in law

The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The location was across from the shopping mall and a variety of restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was great with pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, bagels, cinnamon rolls, coffee and juice

Location and staff

I would like to emphasize that the staff was wonderful and understanding. There was very little they could do politely with this group of guests. These guests( parents & many children) were Very Noisy! The parents let their children run wild. They were messy. They took over the lobby. When a child would drop food on the floor they wouldn’t pick it up.. They Left foods, paper on elevator floor. Played on & Pushed all the buttons in the elevator. Parents/children not respectful to other guests.
