Excellent standard. Brilliant location

The location is excellent and we’ve never stayed in a rental that was that clean! The bedding was luxurious.

Lights are hung too low in a couple areas. We hit our heads often. The shower water temperature is a bit in and out. Fans in bedrooms would have been very appreciated in the heatwave France is having.

The host was there right at the designated time to hand of the keys and give us a quick tour. He is lovely and speaks enough english for us to all understand each other. He is extremely organized and has everything set up perfectly for a comfortable stay. We LOVE old houses and this one was so amazing. The skylights in the beautiful modern kitchen, the rooftop deck, the beautiful fireplaces and large windows—it is really well done. It is also immaculately clean. The kitchen was well appointed for making quick meals, coffee, snacks, and we really appreciated all the water that was left for us in the fridge. We did laundry too! Thank goodness. Our kids (11 & 15) LOVED this house and found comfy little spots to read during downtime. It was the perfect size for our family of 4. The location was perfect. We walked to dinner in the evenings, to shopping, to the cathedral. We drove to all the DDay sights quickly and easily. Parking was never an issue. Bayeux is so charming and easy to get around.

Guests really need to understand that this is not a place for anyone with mobility restrictions. The stairs are steep and winding and the bathrooms are literally on the stairs, you need to be careful going in and out of them. We love old houses and all their interesting orientations but I would be nervous here with elderly parents or small children. If you need to use the restroom in the middle of the night there is no avoiding using the stairs. There are no plastic dishes so if you have young children, you need to bring your own or purchase disposable. I was a little nervous using dishes and glasses up on the deck. Wish there was a top sheet on the beds. Without AC it gets a little warm and having only a comforter is tricky. But this is pretty common in France so we get it! We opened the windows at night and were there when weather was very nice. Just a suggestion.

Lovely, spotlessly clean and well-appointed with a very modern kitchen. The linens and towels are very nice. The location could not be better. Walking distance to all key areas but nice and quiet. The property is quirky due to the fact that it is very old but extremely charming. We very much enjoyed it!

The stairs were a bit dodgy because you exit the bathroom and the toilet (they are separate spaces) onto the staircase between 2 levels of steps such that you have to take great care not to fall. Would not be an ideal place with small children or elderly or if you have large heavy bags to get up the circular stairway as the bedrooms are on the top floors.
