absolutely amazing 10/10 stay
The view from our room was gorgeous, clean room and great location!! Thank you so much :))

Very disappointing hotel.
Location, on the river across from the windmills
No staff to help with luggage, no elevator, room was small, I had to open suitcase on top of bed, as there wasn't enough space to walk around the bed. Two stories high building on top of a waffle shop, you could hear the music from the waffle shop. In the USA the word Boutique means small but high end hotels, clearly not in this case, the place is more like designed for traveling students. The place is a frills whatsoever hotel, there is no restaurant, just a convenience store across the street. Public parking a block away. Very disappointed.

A great place to stay if you are going to Zaanse Schans
It is in a beautiful location and across the street from Zaanse Schans. There is no staff but the online check in and use of technology to access the place was simple to use.

We never stayed — locked out, no staff, misleading address, refund promised by THIS website but not paid.
Nothing, we never even stayed.
The booking confirmation only showed 32 Lagedijk, but one room was actually at Guisweg 29, across two streets and an intersection, unsigned and unstaffed. Digital keys failed, no physical keys, no staff answered phones. We were stranded with children at night. A separate family slept in their car. Booking.com confirmed a refund over the phone and also stated it was“initiated” but it was never paid. Hotel refuses to refund. Unsafe, misleading, refund denied.

Comfortable …
The location as it is close to the windmills . You can walk across the road and you are there . Also they offer free parking space which is a public parking which is convenient for people with cars .
The room was all dusty , right from the table to the coffee maker to the cups and saucers provided . They have contactless chk in but house keeping should be paid attention to.

Completely disappointing
Already inside the room it was clean and ok
We had a very concerning experience during our stay. Another guest was sent by hotel staff to our room to ask for toilet paper. This guest was able to open our door while my husband was inside. While my husband handed him a roll, this should never have happened, guests should never be sent to other guests’ rooms for supplies.
When we asked the hotel for an explanation, they simply told us that normally there is toilet paper in the rooms and that only staff can access the rooms, completely dismissing their responsibility. The reality is that it was the hotel’s own staff who allowed this situation and put another guest in our room.
On top of that, the building has a very strong smell when you walk in, and the area outside the rooms is dirty and unpleasant. Overall, we felt unsafe and extremely disappointed with the way this was handled.

Discusting
Niks !
We booked a waterfront room but got a completely different one in another building. No staff on-site, only slow responses by phone. The room was dark and unwelcoming, and worst of all — we left covered in bedbug bites. Absolutely unacceptable. Would never stay here again.

Great location, comfortable room
The digital entry system is difficult to use and we had to call someone on several occasions because it didn't work. Please employ someone to staff your reception!
More bike parking would be nice.

Stay near to Windmills
The location of Zaan was excellent. Close to trains but more importantly on the water and walking distance to the windmills.

Scam,scary,shady,not worth going to.
Nothing
It has two buildings, one is Main, other is side annex.
No one in the main property knew where side annex is,as it is digital so no one available to attend.
People at their restaurant didn't know anything how to check in and said we dnt deal with it.
Email said I shall get a digital key, that was seperate from bar code they had sent me earlier,I kept on the road, locals didn't know any thing about the hotel annex building at all.
After 30 minutes of wonderless search I found a house 29,with no labels for a hotel, called on the number ,they said I need to pay a tourist tax, which I wasn't made aware before by email,I waited for their email to arrive witha a link, which I clicked, payed 5 euro extra, waited, no reply.
Called them again, the person on telephone, said now door is open,go to your room, and he unlocked the room and key was on table.
Room was at ground floor, and picturesque views promised at time of booking included a parking with car in front of window, and factory behind it.
Room was dark, with one light not working, even at day time,it remained dark ,with dark purple walls.
My request to booking.com is to please make people aware of the hotel, which appears bit shady and scam like, especially when you are in a town, which goes dead silent after 6 pm,and if you don't have your phone on roaming or a Internet already in place, you shall suffer on the roads .
My worst experience ever of the hotel

Best Location in Zaanse Schans!
Best hotel location in Zaanse Schans, next to the bridge before all of the windmills. The area is so picturesque but has a million tourists daily. Staying in the hotel gives you a chance to see the sights before a million people arrive, see the draw bridge lifted, morning fog, and enjoy coffee or meals in the restaurant attach to the hotel. The bakery across the street is great, there’s public parking lot behind the bakery. Hotel gives you digital key, make sure you complete the steps to pay city tax couple days before check in, immediately after they email you. A great place to stay in Zaandijk!

Never again neither booking.com nor this hotel
First of all, after the reservation I made through Booking.com, the hotel sent me multiple emails. One of them was about paying taxes and the other was about the room being approved. When I waited at the hotel through booking.com, I chose this hotel because it was across from the windmills by the canal. On the day of check-in, they sent me another email and said my room number was room 1203 and sent me an internet link to open the door. When I arrived at the hotel building by the canal, I couldn't open the door with the opening code on the link they sent, so I called their phone number. Although it was around 16:00, no one answered the phone. After a while, I read a small sign on the door and it said that if my room number was 1203, I had to go to a building at another address. Then I went to the other building and went up to the 3rd floor of the building. There was no elevator. While I was expecting a canal view, I came across a view of a factory chimney. I climbed 3 floors with my 13-month-old baby and stroller on narrow and steep stairs and came across a view of a factory. I contacted booking.com and they said they would fix the problem but unfortunately they didn't. This will be the last reservation I will make through booking.com! Then I sent an e-mail to the hotel whose phone I couldn't reach and explained the situation. They would have arranged another room for me in the other building but since there was no housekeeper I carried the baby bed from the third floor of the other building to the second floor of this building without an elevator. When all the procedures were finished it was 22:00. My 13 month old son had to wait outside in the cold until this hour. Although it was written that there was breakfast for the morning, of course we couldn't find a reception or a hosekeeper so we just left the hotel. As a result the hotel deceived us with the photos. booking deceived me by not solving my problem.

I like Zaanse Schans.
The best was the view.
After I realized I was put in the Annex building I booked in to the main building. I was charged for both rooms! For 2 nights.

Great location and room was comfortable.
We loved the location but check in was a bit confusing if you were busy travelling and hadn’t checked emails. It was a digital code to get in at first and card key was in your room. Never seen anyone at reception the whole stay. Bathroom was spotless but the walls in bedroom were a bit scuffed and under the bed hadn’t been cleaned. There is a little store, bakery and pub across the road.

Hotel was fine - checkin challenges tarnished the experience
Close to windmills etc ..walking distance
Check in process was not good …we didn’t get digital key for 1 of the rooms-couldn’t reach anyone with posted number ..took almost 2 hours to rectify and a lot of phone calls and aggravated waste of valuable time …

Great view of a factory complete with rock concert level noise from 5am.
Bathroom tiles.
Stay here to get a room overlooking a carpark and large factory belching smoke nonstop and a splittingly loud noise from 5am in morning. The room also comes with all night bright green lighting from the ceiling's AC unit and bright light through the front door's glass courtesy of a sensor light outside the door which goes on and off whether or not someone is there. The checkin process and provider's "customer service" was the worst experienced in 4 months of travel. The shower has no curtain so almost the entire bathroom floor gets soaked. The bed is a base, some sort of middle base and a thin topper-like mattress. The pillows.are high and hard. Very very expensive subpar lodging.

Lovely property located in a beautiful quaint area of Zanse Schans.
Lovely views from the room, the room itself was comfortable and clean, with fresh towels provided every day. Digital hotel therefore, no physical key card and everything was on my phone. There is a Spar shop located opposite the hotel and a big supermarket located 10/15 minute walk away. Zanse Schans windmill village was a short 5 minute walk across the bridge. The train station Zaandijk Zanse Schans, was 10 minute walk away and provided direct Sprinters into Amsterdam Central every 30 minutes. The room came with amenities and a smart TV, with apps like Netflix and YouTube already installed. Lovely sized bed and comfortable to sleep in. Food from the cafe was lovely and reasonably priced, and the mini fridge within the room was big enough to store food bought elsewhere. Air-conditioning unit within the room which worked brilliantly both providing heat and cooling. Plenty of plug sockets around the room, as well as direct USB slots into the wall at the desk area.
The cafe/restaurant below the hotel was lovely however only open for 6 hours in the middle of the day, meaning not an option for dinner. Breakfast was included however not what was expected, no breakfast options just a brown paper bag of sandwiches, water and an apple provided each day, no option to pick a breakfast and too much food given. The 24/7 pizza dispenser that was outside the main entrance did not work for the entire duration of our stay. During the opening hours of the cafe it can get quite noisy as the room was located directly above the outdoor seating area therefore we kept the window shut.

Book Somewhere Else
The manager was unavailable but the bartenders were super helpful
The room provided was not in the main premise but across the street as a standalone building.
Also the room was not similar to the one that allotted.
I had the room which was situated at the rooftop of the building that meant on the either side of the bed i would bang my head to the ceiling. Worst room, worst experience.

Very good
Location, location, location. 3 minute walk just over the Bridge and in to the town. 15 minute drive into Amsterdam. Restaurant and grocery store very close. Room was perfect for a healthy couple as no elevator over at out section of rooms. The master Bedroo. Was a loft with steep stairs. If you have issues with Stairs, this room should be avoided. Otherwise It waS very comfortable for our purposes
Room was not ready, due to entire cleaning staff out sick. 4 hours later, the management was still apologizing and offered us free Dinner and drinks We were pleased with the service and food.

Nice hotel and restaurant marred by poor attention to maintenance in the room
This is a lovely location on the water opposite a pretty windmill. The hotel is modern and has a very nice restaurant with seating on the water or inside with water views. Just over the bridge is De Zaanse Schans a very picturesque traditional village with working windmills and museums.
For the price and given the overall positive impression of the hotel, I was surprised to find several maintenance problems in the room. 1 - The bedside lamp was broken and hanging over on its side. 2 - The curtains were hanging down, 3 - Very few channels (no English news channels) which would be okay except that many showed up in the guide but were not available which was frustrating. 4 - coffee machine did not work. This all left the impression that the restaurant was the main focus and the hotel aspect was a sideline.

Nice location near Zaanse Schans
Nice and clean room. Wonderful location of the main building with amazing view of the breakfast room.
Some small things such as: a rather tall bed km the low ceiling attic room; absence of shower cabin or curtain, causing half of the bathroom to get wet every time we took a shower.

Not what I was hoping for
The views while we were having breakfast was amazing and the breakfast was on point
Everything about the arrangements.... I booked my stay through booking.com for 4 people, 2 rooms, my 2 kids and husband. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that one of the rooms we reserved was in the boutique hotel and the other room was in another building which was 3 to 5 minutes walk from the Boutique hotel which was very disappointing that I have to separate my family.
When I choose the option of us all sticking together, they said that there are no extra rooms in the boutique hotel and the only option was for us to stay at the other building that actually looks like hostel.
The views of the boutique hotel sold me to choose it and book it but my family and I ended up in a hostel for the same amount of money I thought I was paying for the boutique hotel 🏨.

They are not up to boutique standards. Uncaring staff
We went at 9 am for breakfast and there was hardly any food, the dishes were empty. Had to wait 20 minutes for bacon and toast. The staff was lazy to refill the buffet. Some inefficient girls work there
We asked what time is dinner They told us that the kitchen closes at 9 pm we went at 8 pm for dinner and the kitchen had closed at 8 pm so we went to bed without dinner.

The river view was outstanding!
Enjoyed the area where the hotel was located. Parking was easy. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel was close to Zaanse Schaan.
View of the river was gorgeous-we had breakfast next to the window.
Breakfast was average. Nothing special. Presentation could have been better instead of just on the baking sheet. When items emptied, it took a long time to refill. Kudos to our waitress for her service during dinner and breakfast.
