A beautiful neighborhood and a beautiful place to stay

First, I would like to mention the communication prior to arriving at the facility: It was very nice that the facility contacted us before we arrived in Amsterdam and provided information about self check-in and our room. We also received a message before arriving in Amsterdam that included information on everything you could think of, from bakeries and supermarkets around the hotel to activities and transportation. I have stayed in many hotels in many different parts of the world, but I have never encountered such attentive staff before. During the stay: The moment you walk through the hotel door, you are greeted by a very pleasant cleaning smell. Our room was spotless and was cleaned again and again free of charge whenever we wanted during our stay. Despite our long stay, the refrigerator and kettle in the room were more than sufficient for us. There was very cold days in February but we didn't feel cold in the room at all. The room temperature was ideal and the air conditioning was sufficient.. The wardrobe was quite large and had plenty of hangers. The staff were in constant communication with us during our stay and were very kind. The hotel is located a few minutes' walk from the train station, and you can reach any city in the Netherlands by train. If I visit Amsterdam again, I would choose to stay here again.

I felt the lack of a cup to put toothbrushes in the bathroom and hair conditioner. But this may not be a problem for many people.

Location, Professionalism& Comfort

Everything I could wish for a city break in Amsterdam. The location is amazing - few minutes walk from the train station in Zaanse Schans that is a 15 minutes ride to Amsterdam central station. This is perfect for everyone that likes to enjoy Amsterdam's intense rithm, while enjoying a quiet night. The room was spacious, lovely designed& comfortable, as was the bathroom, not to mention spotless clean. Easy to find parking spaces right in front of the location. Very good comunication with the host& we highly appreciated that they have reached out asking us if they can support us in making our stay even more enjoyable. Even if Amsterdam was our final destination, due to this place we discovered how wonderfull Zaanse Schans trully is. The windmills are at a 10 minutes walk distance and yes, you can trully smell the cocoa beans in the air. Do visit the tourist info point near the hotel as everyone is so lovely and the prices are more affordable than both in Zaandam& Amsterdam.

A clean, cozy place with wonderful hosts and a perfect location near the windmills.

We loved the location and the neighbourhood — it’s quiet, charming, and just a short walk from the famous windmills. The apartment was spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It’s also conveniently close to the train station, only about 15–20 minutes from Amsterdam, which made exploring super easy. The owners were extremely welcoming and open — they helped us a lot and made our stay feel very warm and personal.

Honestly, everything met our expectations — no complaints!

Perfect stay!

It was beautiful and so easy to find and travel from! So comfortable and perfect for visiting the windmills. Highly recommend staying there! It also means you can visit the windmills late and early and beat the tour group rush! Excellent stay!

Quite a solution within overpriced Amsterdam area

Quiet location, close proximity to the train station, clean and fresh smell in the room, nice village with mills to see and cocoa factory nearby.

Price is quite high for this type of accommodation but I understand that the whole Amsterdam area is overpriced. Pictures of the room are made much better than rooms are in reality) no window view (facing the roof), the rooms are older than in the pic, for e.g. hood would not turn off even when the light iin the bathroom is off and it was hard to sleep with the sound constantly on.

Friendly, welcoming, comfortable, quiet and very convenient.

Travelling with my 8 year old son. The hotel was perfect. Situated in a quiet suburb by only 20 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal by train with free and safe parking. Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Excellent local amenities within walking distance. Best of all was the hospitality. Ismael could not have been more friendly and made us feel most welcome. We will return soon.

The receptionist is kind and helpful. We had a problem and it got fixed right away. The room was nicely sized. The location is spot on. The train station is really close so getting to Amsterdam was super easy.

Great stay, clean and comfortable

It was in a very quiet neighbourhood and close (10 mins away) from a conference I was attending. Easy self check in available and staff super responsive, room was very clean and had everything I needed. Lovely tall ceilings and nicely decorated.

It is outside of Amsterdam if you’re looking to be closer to the centre but for me it was not a problem. Also the train station is so close and it’s only a short ride into the centre so not really an issue.

Great place for stay.

We had travelled to Netherlands for our honeymoon. We had booked a stay at Botiquue Hotel Zaan. But we were unable to check in there. Since it was king's day the next day we were unable to get any availability. Last moment we found boutique hotel 43. Here the hosts are a wonderful couple. They were really really kind. Understood our situation and helped us through out. The place was neat, stay was pleasant, they also suggested us many eateries and places to visit. Thank you so much to both of you. The new owners of the hotel are very welcoming and willing to work with the customers schedule if possible.

Not terrible, not great.

The hotel is a former bank converted into a hotel. There was free street parking directly in front of the hotel with lots of spaces available. It was a short walk to the train making it relatively easy to get into the center of Amsterdam. Although I have been to Amsterdam countless times, I had never been to Zaandijk, which was a cute village with lots of Windmills and a small downtown with a few nice eateries.

There is no mirror in the room except for a small one over the bathroom sink making it difficult if you want to look nice for an event. There are steep stairs and no elevator to get to all the rooms, difficult if you are carrying a suitcase. The doors are extremely loud - if your neighbor closes their door at night you will surely wake up. The bathroom is poorly designed. If someone showers it will flood the bathroom and your feet will get wet if you ever use the toilet. The windows were open, and to close them you need to stand on a chair. There is no wastebasket except for a tiny one next to the toilet. The bed and desk were ok, the other furnishings were old and wobbly.

The nights were quiet which was good. The rooms looked really pretty. I liked that we could park there directly infront of the door.

The aircon/heater didn’t worked and we got a little heater which also didn’t worked. The room was freezing cold ( winter ) and it was really uncomfortable to stay. We avoided the room because of that.

Place is beautiful, comfortable beds, nice personal. The neighborhood is beautiful and worth a day around.

Not clear to us was that bedrooms and restaurant/ Check-in are in separated buildings, distant around 500 meters from each other, which can be difficult if you have luggage. All the rest was great! I recommend the place!

You can do check-in online but you still need to get key in restaurant which is in 500m. Extra walk with luggage and kid is not what I expect from Boutique hotel. I had 4 towels in my shower but no one hanger for it.

Great location very close to the train station on a quiet road, BUT you had to walk to the furthest of their 2 properties (twice as far - about 10 minutes) where they have an Italian restaurant to get the key when you checked in. Their is NO STAFF at this hotel, but the staff at the restaurant were very nice! When checking out, if you have prepaid, you can just leave the key in the room to go to the train station which is very convenient. Room was a very nice size, very good TV, with some channels in English (Dutch captioned), circular stairs to the floors above (no elevator). Smell of chocolate throughout the neighborhood as their is a very large chocolate processing plant across the street. Very comfortable bed (king size!). Nice small fridge in the room. Very quiet. Only a 12 minute walk to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans windmill area which is quiet picturesque. Go EARLY or LATE to avoid the throngs of tourists who arrive by bus. Stores opened at 10:00AM there. Get there before that to enjoy the views, then stay beyond 10:00 to enjoy the tourist shops. Worth seeing. Italian restaurant had a pizza. We did not get Italian dishes as they were heavy with garlic, and even the restaurant smells heavily of garlic (not to our liking).

See above about no staff at the hotel, and having to walk further to get your key. Also, our key we got on day one of our 3-day stay did not work the 2nd day. So, we had to ring them on the phone and they brought a new key card down to us that did work. BEWARE: the shower is extremely modern with no door or threshold, and the faucet is NOT EASY TO FIGURE OUT! My wife did not have her glasses on when she started it, and the water came with such force out of the rain shower end that it flooded the entire bathroom before she figured out how to turn it off and also how to get the hand-held shower to work. They need some general directions in a number of languages in the bathroom to aid travelers when they arrive. If you can figure out how to use it before you flood the room, then it is a good shower. Not a lot of light above the mirror in the bath and little to no counter space next to the sink. No places to eat near this hotel. Their Italian restaurant is about a 10 minute walk. There is an excellent bakery about 3 minutes walk further up the street on the right that serves very good coffee as well. No breakfast with the room.

if there is a zero as a rate i would give a zero , first when we reached the hotel, the hotel door is closed and there is no instructions or gps location to tell us where to go , we called the hotel several times and they didnt say anything how we can check in, finally they give us a loctaion, we reached there and then they told us you take the key from here and you go to another location, when we finally reached the room we were shocked that the sheets and pillow cases are not changed and there is hair on them the towels are dirty and there is lipstick on one of them the bathroom sink was dirty and i had to clean it my self so i can feel ok to use it there is no water in the room not even to do a cup of coffee they didnt even put the coffee capsules to do a coffee the AC was making a sound all night that you cant ignore it and sleep it was a disaster in all ways.
