About this house rental

As we relax a little bit now over Covid 19 we have changed book in to 4pm and check out to 10am. As always we will message you as soon as the property is ready on your check in day.

'The Milking Parlour' was converted in 2008. It is just 2 miles from the popular harbour town of St Ives, but peacefully located high near the dramatic north Cornwall coast and ideal for exploring the rugged cliffs and country of this beautiful area. The property has slate floors throughout, with underfloor heating powered by geothermal energy from our own boreholes. In addition infrared panels have been fitted to the ceiling in the living room in case you need an extra burst of heat. Also, solar panels make the most of the sunlight to make this a very energy efficient property.
The property has two bedrooms, (one with king size bed, and en suite wet room; the second with twin beds,) family bathroom, kitchen/diner, and large living room with wood burning stove, and a 'hideaway' double bed.
Outside to one side of the property is an enclosed courtyard area, while on the other side there is a garden and large raised patio area with a panoramic view down to the sea - the ideal place to enjoy a barbecue and watch the sun set. there is parking for 3 or more cars.

Bookings: Usually Saturday to Saturday in the main part of the summer, but in early or late season shorter stays are possible. Check out the calendar to see what's available, or send us an enquiry, we are always happy to try and accommodate your holiday.

So pleased I found this property, it was perfect for our NYE break. Local to where we live we get a lot of fireworks & our dogs were able to relax with no noise of fireworks here, it feels really remote, but it’s only a few miles to local shops. We travelled into St Ives & Marazion & St Michael’s Mount just a short drive away, during our stay.The property is very secure, we could let the dogs out in the courtyard knowing they couldn’t escape. The kitchen is well equipped, like a home from home & the living room is a lovely comfortable place to relax. We really enjoyed our short stay here, just perfect for our old dog.

We stayed here about a year ago and loved it so much we returned and brought family. They also thought it was one of the nicest cottages they had ever stayed in. It’s so well designed and stocked like an actual home. We love the fact you can walk your dogs in rural tranquility or walk to St Ives if you fancy a beautiful day at the coast. Can't begin to say enough good things about this extraordinary home away from home. The place is tucked away on a quiet hillside just far enough from the insanity that is St. Ives in the summer, with a view out to the sea from the upper terrace, yet within easy driving distance of shopping and all the important sights. Spotless, comfortable, beautiful and stylish, everything you could possibly need. Highest possible recommendation.

This place was even better than the pictures. Bigger, more space, newer amenities and everything we needed. The little lane it was down was beautiful. The neighbors were great. Sarah was super responsive and we had amazing time. So close to St. Ives, Penzance and other locales but removed from the center of all the busy areas. If you are ok with little lanes and country sounds and smells...this is the place for you. We'll be back!

This was certainly the most wonderful stay I have had anywhere! A beautiful house set in the amazing cornish countryside. Very peaceful and quiet, perfect for dogs as well. The property / furnishings are of a very high standard, kitchen was really well equiped (with a lovely welcome basket with cornish goodies) and the house was immaculately clean! We fully recommend this place 10/10.

Arrived to find a property you can only dream of when it comes to value for money. Huge house, all facilities and quiet! We wished we could take it with us around the UK. For up to 4 people or a large family you could not ask for more. You just need your own transport. Thanks Sarah. Chris & Debra.

The attention to small details like having bed guards, high chairs etc available was brilliant, and the welcome basket of Cornish goodies was a lovely touch. Nice cottage. The settees were very uncomfortable. Very low to the ground.Being partially disabled my husband drove 9 hrs to home and back on Christmas Day to get me a chair so I could be comfortable. Garden all open so not ideal.. listing states there is a hot tub which we never did find. There was a dvd player which was in the drawer but couldn’t be played.

A fabulous pet friendly cottage in a peaceful location surrounded by fantastic countryside walks. Only a miles to St Ives and Penzance. Penzance Sainsbury’s is a short walk from a lovely beach and( for electric car users) you can charge for free. The locality has many historic sites, castles and numerous areas of outstanding natural beauty. Once you’ve been to the Milking parlour in Trowednack you’ll want to go again.

We spent two magnificent sun-drenched weeks in the Milking Parlour. High-quality accommodation in lovely peaceful surroundings and wonderful neighbours providing lots of helpful hints. Milk, coffee, tea and bread would be lovely on arrival as it is a bit away from a supermarket and it would be nice to have a drink before exploring the area. We had a lovely long weekend here with my partner, parents and in-laws. The house is set up for 6 adults, with a well-equipped kitchen, and large living room - we could have stayed for a week without getting under each other's feet. Comfy beds, two great bathrooms, two patios, bbq, nice country walks with ocean views. You will need to drive or cycle in to St Ives, but we enjoyed being away from the busy town centre.

We deliberately looked for a place outside the touristic hot spots - and found a perfect one. More than enough room for two people, kitchen with little left to desire (maybe a pan with a flat bottom for better frying results), spacious living room with big sofa. As mentioned by others, the sofa is indeed quite soft. Sitting on multiple stacked sofa pillows solved the issue for us ;-) Perfect basis for trips by e-bikes to reach St Ives or Penzance or trips with car plus bikes for places further away.

We wanted a holiday dog friendly property for my partner & I plus 2 large dogs & space to host our daughter & family for a day visit. The Milking Palour was ideal for space for all. The courtyard area totally secure with gates for the dogs, or further space out front secure if we were with them, if smaller dogs then you would be fine as there are gates to close across the driveway. The views are lovely & open on the front where you can sit & enjoy. There is also good walk just up the road you can get onto the hills. The property is spacious, the lounge has beautiful large window. All crockery & cutlery & cooking dishes you could need, I cooked for 7 & no issues. The dogs enjoyed their holiday & loved going from one garden area to the other. Heating works very well if needed as did showers, one is also over a nice bath. Ensuite wet room spacious as is main bedroom. A very comfortable home feel to the property. Would visit again. Though it feels remote it is not, nearest Tesco Superstore was only 10 mins drive in Carbis Bay. The host answered all my questions on email very promptly & was very informative. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Booked for 4 adults and 3 medium dogs, accommodation was perfectly sized with plenty of space throughout. Location fabulous, peace and quiet but minutes away from main road into St Ives, Penzance etc. Kitchen well stocked with equipment, 2 bathrooms both with lovely showers and a good supply of towels. Fabulous private back yard area (especially if you have dogs) with 3 doors to the area from the property. All in all a lovely week - we will definately be back.

The location is excellent in a beautiful spot and easy access to main attractions in the car. We love walking and walked in to St Ives and the around lovely surrounding area. The property itself was clean and comfortable with everything you could possible want. The farmer working nearby was very friendly and gave us lots of great travel tips too. Would definitely book again.

Lovely spot to spend the week (despite the best efforts of the weather) Its a really nice cottage with comfy beds and a good kitchen. Would have been perfect if there had been a pint of milk and some condiments provided - so plan ahead before you arrive. Also no information about local places to eat/visit etc which again would have been really helpful as it is (beautifully) tucked away from everywhere.

The property is finished to a very high standard throughout and situated high above St. Ives in a beautiful and peaceful rural location. Perfect for those that want total peace and quiet, with all the amenities of St. Ives, Penzance etc a short drive away. For us it was perfect.
