Liegt ein bissl abseits, aber für Venedig immer noch sehr gut. Neu renoviertes Gebäude. Vaporetto-Stationen und Lokale zu Fuß gut zu erreichen (aber man sollte sich vorher informieren, jeder hat da andere Erwartungen!).

We wanted an apartment in a less touristy area with easy access to Venice itself. The apartment is ideally situated on Giudecca island and is easy to get to from Piazzale Roma within 20 minutes using the vaporetto on Line 4.1
The apartment is cool and quiet and step free on the ground floor. There are a number of restaurants and bars locally and the trip to Venice proper only takes 10 minutes by vaporetto.
All ground floor properties in Venice apparently suffer from a degree of damp according to one tour guide. It is an inherent aspect of Venetian life. There is no sign of damp in this property but a slight lingering musty smell persists. The property has no canal view as all windows look out of the rear overlooking adjacent building. Natural light is therefore limited and the kitchen area in particular is rather dark even with the lights on.
A safe box with a keypad was provided but we could not use it as the battery had gone flat. The owner was made aware but the unit wasn’t replaced during our short stay. Lighting in the bathroom was adequate but the mirror lights above the handbasin did not work which was disappointing. The only other issue was that the door lock was stiff and hard to operate. Overall the facilities provided were adequate for our needs but the general condition suggests a lack of attention to detail. Having said that the price was about right.

Emplacement tres calme, absence de vue à rez de chaussée (mais nous etions prevenus). Appartement propre. Bonne literie.
Appartement triste (et pas uniquement du fait d'etre à rez de chaussée): pas de decoration, canapé inconfortanle, pas de fauteuil, TV hors service (ecran cassé) et telecommandes (2) hors d'usage.
