Best B&B i have stayed in for a long time.

Had a lovely stay!. My hosts could not have been more friendly, helpful or accommodating. Nice spacious room, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast that was made to order. Great location, 2 minutes walk from parks, 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to the centre of town. I would def book here again!

The hosts were really welcoming and after finding out I wouldn’t be making breakfast due to leaving early for work they were happy enough to make my lunches for me which they didn’t need to do. Always checking that everything was okay. Really enjoyed my stay and would be happy to stay there again. Close to the beach which is handy as well, Morrisons just down the road. Couldn’t ask for anything more

Lovely cosy guest hose close to the beach and shops. landlady was really friendly and kindly let me have a slightly later breakfast after 9.30am as I was doing the local parkrun on the front at 9am.

Great place to stay, and base from which to explore

The host was very warm and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was lovely with a variety of cereals , juices and items in the cooked breakfast. The breakfast room was set out so that it felt spacious, and also made it easy to chat to fellow guests. The location was very close to the main parks and beaches, and across the road from a huge choice of eateries. All areas of the guest house were immaculately clean.

The hotel was immaculate, our room was superb and very spacious too with the comfiest hotel beds I have ever slept in too. Having stayed in many of the near by hotels in the past, this one is by far the best! Lorraine (I hope I remembered that correctly) looked after us with a very warm welcome from the moment we checked in. As a slightly fussy eater she catered perfectly for my breakfast needs (which was delicious) and I couldn’t leave without giving her a cuddle (it really felt like I was leaving family behind). It is very rare that you get such exceptional service and I couldn’t have been happier with my stay. My only worry is that my high praise may lead to the hotel being fully booked next year when I want to book again ;) I will certainly be back! 10/10

Excellent and well recommended.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying here for four nights and it was one of the best independant hotels/b&bs I have stayed in for a very long time. Firstly, the service. Lorraine was a joy to meet and speak to, from introduction to ensuring that all aspects were to my satisfaction. The service provided was above and beyond after booking.com caused an error, and Lorraine was quick to resolve this. # The food was well cooked, and importantly, one was allowed to choose what they wanted [some places will force on you, regardless or not a full-Full English] whereas I am more discerning. Room service during the day - cleaning, checks etc were carried out diligently and each day the bed had been made and room tidied. And oh the bed! One of the most comfortable beds I've had the pleasure of sleeping on in a good good long while - I actually slept soundly. Dear reader, had I been able to get away with it, I would have stolen that bed for future comfort. That is just how good things were. I hope to be able to stay again on my next jaunt upto Tyneside/South Shields, and my thanks to Lorraine for the first rate accomodation.

Great Weekend break at South Shore Guest House.

Lovely stay at South Shore Guest House. Lorraine is a fabulous host, very welcoming, couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was great. We are vegetarians and Lorraine catered for our needs professionally and with no fuss. Our room was spotlessly clean and we had everything we needed. South Shore Guest House is conveniently placed with a great park nearby. Lovely walk along the beach and lots of great places to eat.
