Fab guesthouse ran by friendly and accomodating host

I was a returning guest which speaks volumes, you wouldn't go back if it was no good and Beechwood guest house is very good. Spotless ensuite room, comfy bed with a choice of pillows, blackout blinds, great sized tv, well stocked hospitality tray and lots of little extras in the room to ensure a comfortable stay.

Perfect solo stay at Beechwood Guest House

V warm helpful welcome from owner, very comfy bed, black out curtains, spotlessly clean, free street parking, 8 mins walk to Metro to Newcastle, 5 mins from beach, beautiful beaches and history nearby. Great facilities...iron, hairdryer, fridge, kettle and hot drinks...just a lovely stay.

I unreservedly recommend!

Honestly, all great. From the impeccable cleanliness, friendly owner to the array of little touches, e.g. Fridge in the room, extension lead both sides of the bed to ensure enough sockets, cold water carafe to a mini box of chocolates. Shampoo and body wash provided as well as a kettle with tea and coffee. Lastly, the bed was very comfortable. The neighbourhood has LOTS of restaurants including a fab award winning fish and chip restaurant over the road (Coleman's) In addition, it's 5 minutes from the sea front and a lovely park. Last but not least, the metro is 8 mins walk away and a bus into Sunderland is literally 1 minute away. For bargain hunters with a car, there is a Barbour factory shop with great reductions 10 minutes away.

I like to think I am picky but fair. I can honestly say that I was totally happy and would unreservedly recommend.

The hotel is modern,clean, has everything you might need. Very comfortable and reasonably priced. Will definitely stay here again the next time in come up this way. 100% recommend.

Definitely be returning

Great location, room was very clean and comfortable. The facilities were exceptional for the price I paid ie Netflix, YouTube and Alexa clock, fridge, filled glass water bottles and even a little fold up table and chair! The owner Rez couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Just great!!

The owner, Rez, gave us a lovely welcome and the hospitality in the room even included a small box of chocolates 😊 We opted not to have breakfast but only because we were visiting/meeting family so I cannot comment on the food but the price per person (£10/day) seemed very reasonable.

Kept banging my head on the beam in the eaves but more my clumsiness 🤣🤣

Wonderful stay - top notch highly recommend!!

We stayed on a room basis only. It had everything you needed, expectational value for money. Provided fridge, kettle, coffee and tea biscuits etc along with refilled bottles of water. Hairdryer, iron and iron board, shampoo, shower gel soap and also washing up liquid and sponge to clean cups out. Thought of everything - superb!! Bed was comfy and room so clean, spotless, well looked after property and facilities . Friendly staff, welcoming and made you feel comfortable. Will be back for sure and will recommend to others!

Excellent position short walk to seafront and funfair also 2 parks one with boating lake and mini train and both have children's playgrounds. Pub and award winning chippy opposite and choice of restaurants. Minutes walk to bus station and metro, Morrisons and shops and ferry to northshields. The Grotto is well worth a visit on the E1 bus or car and you can walk across the Lee's to it and the light house.

We had no issues with our room. Although Rez didn't check the room or make the bed every day he always asked every morning if we needed anything for the room and to knock on his door anytime.

Business security online hacked and compromised demanding to pay in full. No explanation or discount, I had to cancel my card as it was compromised. I traveled up from Portsmouth, explained I would be late as it’s a 5hr trip, I was asked if I could set off earlier in the day to make check in time. This was not possible after attending a funeral and picking up my son from school. Check out wasn’t explained properly and the host walked straight in to our room without knocking, I had a child getting dressed. The area is unsafe.

Exceptional

Mr. Rez the owner of the guest house is a very welcoming person.The rooms are very well maintained and in excellent condition.You are provided with basic amenities like iron , hairdryer, heater in the room , smart tv with all the possible channels and excellent WiFi connection.Been staying here for 2 days and it feels like home. Anyone looking for temporary accommodation at South shields I would recommend this place which is at walkable distance from the south Shields metro station and the beach having plenty of multi cuisine restaurants nearby to choose from.
