Ocean Road Rooms

It was very pleasant, room was cosy and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and polite, made sure we had everything we needed.

Just the fact that there was a bed to sleep in. When we went we were too tired and it was very late which is why we did not go somewhere else.

Disliked everything. Disgustingly dirty.the whole house was filthy. The toilet was disgusting. The bedding had stains and was not ironed. Bedsheet came out dui g the night. Very old and horrible mattress.

It was on Ocean Road and had free parking available

The window won’t close / lock nor would it stay open. Bathroom light didn’t work. Huge hole in wall behind toilet. No mirror in bathroom. Extractor fan makes distressed sounds. No bed side furniture. No bed side lighting. Bedding stained. Mattress seen many a better day. Weren’t given door code to get back in after night out, and got told off by manager for waking him up. Very noisy during the night.

It was a nice place but the room was unclean when I got there are fleas and I have been bitten by them as well there holes in the walls and people have there belongings in the draws there was a sock a spoon and tablets in there the shower was ok but the cables wasn’t safe

Mark was welcoming, courteous and polite. And the cleanliness the following morning was impressive.

My bedsheets though in clean condition, had the feeling and signs f being stale on the bed. Then for an apartment that is listed as a non-smoking property, gentleman that welcomed me had a burning cigarette in hand upon arrival.

Very unclean. Sheets dirty with foot marks, pillows had make up stains. Unable to give me a key to the room, stated that it would be in the door upon my return despite me explaining that my property including car keys were in the room I felt so unsafe that I did not stay at the property. The front door being left wide open and a number of males entering the property all drinking and smoking. I was and still unable to contact the manager 'mark' currently waiting for a full refund.

The feeling and comfortablity of the room was cosy and snug. I slept well. I enjoyed the close proximity to the cosy line, good for walking, especially late in the evening when it's quiet and a little cooler and darker.

I only had 1 problem, the room wasn't prepared on arrival but this was quickly amd efficiently dealt with by the friendly staff.

The gentleman that greated me on my arrival was very helpful in every way

i didn't stay, they couldn't find my booking even though I have emails concerning it. the receptionist was bad tempered at us being there and blames booking.com.for the error

I was booked to stay here May 3-5 before heading back to the US. It was bank holiday weekend and this was one of the cheaper options for that time frame. I was asked when I would arrive and I let them know that it was dependent on my plane/train travel times but as soon as i knew, I would let them know. On Saturday after my flight landed and I booked my train to the area, I used the Booking.com message app to contact the hotel and let them know that the train would get around the area at 8:20 pm and I'd be Ubering from there. After a few hours and hearing nothing (6:30pm) , I messaged Mark directly to make sure he would be there and heard nothing back. Once I arrived in Sunderland at 8:25, I called him and I was informed that the room I booked at a leak and that he was trying to find another room for me at a different hotel. He called back after finding one and asked me to pay for it out of pocket and then he would give me the money the next day when we went to the hotel or he could bank transfer it to me. The other option was for me to book it myself and he would again pay me the next day. After much back and forth, he ended up being able to book it and I assumed we were all good, and he offered to pay for the taxi from that hotel to his the next day. Upon arrival at the next hotel, I found out it had not been paid for so I had to do so in hopes he would pay back. It was well past 9pm as well and I had been traveling since 6am so I just did it. I asked him about this and he called and said the room would be ready The following day and that he would give me cash. For reference, I'm from the US and if I did not have the money I would have been stranded. The next day we go to the room and he does give me the money for the hotel and uber. He told us the room we had and it is not at all what looks like on the website. I didn't feel safe staying in the hotel but just thought "It's one night".

The host was the nicest bloke you could wish to meet, he made my short stay an absolute pleasure

The room was dirty, body fluids, and hair everywhere. Had to clean it before we did anything. Bathroom wasn't finished, fire door had no hinge on and pillows are old, flat and lumpy.

Property was in a good location. The host was lovely.

The property was filthy, it was falling apart. The bed had stains all over it and an awful smell.

Very handy for facilities, attractive park at top of the rd and then access to river and sea side.The property is a little tired in places but extremely good value. The heating was great, after I turned the radiator on.

The details said there was a communal kitchen but that wasn’t the case, however the landlady let me use her own kitchen.

Was in walking distance to the beach and shopping facilities.

When I got to the place I was stopping. I was waiting outside for 20 mins before I rang a number that was on the door for a lady to give me different codes to try and get in the door after ringing the bell several times. For a woman to open the door to ask who i was and I should of been given a code to get in. I had to show her my email as she didn't believe I had a booking. She give me a key to the room I was staying in. I went to go back out she showed me that there was a fob on the keys to get back in and not to ring door bell. Attitude could of been a bit better towards me.

Fanns ingen bokning när vi kom så vi fick bo första natten på annat ställe då det inte fanns några lediga rum trots vår bokningsbekräftelse. När vi väl fick tillgång till vårt rum (dagen efter) så va det så skitigt ,ostädat och ofräsht så vi spenderade en natt där och sen checkade vi ut och tog in på hotell resterande vecka! Kompensation är väl inte att räkna med?
