Cannes Old Town Suites

The location was awesome it allowed us to explore Cannes from the heart. We were able to easily get everywhere we wanted. The apartment is comfy and it has everything one might need for a stay. The location is not only convenient but beautiful, less than 10min from the beach and ship terminal if you are interested in going to the islands near to Cannes.

Even tho the room itself was smoke free, not all the units respect that (we don't know if they are all administrated by the same company) our room smelled of cigarrette the entire time. Even tho the unit had a walking closet we couldn't use it as it was the most affected room. We had to sleep with the windows open because of this and there are restaurants outside so it was also noisy.

The location was fabulous. Located over an incredible restaurant, the street was quiet and felt very residential. It was a little bit of a walk from the main "downtown" area of Cannes, but I didn't mind the hike up the hill. It may be difficult for someone with mobility problems, but car services can get you quite close to the apartment.

The apartment was fine on first inspection. But after a while you start to notice the little things that could be better for the pricepoint. This was clearly an older building that was flipped to create STVRs. For example the walls are paper thin and you can hear other guests at all hours. My bedroom must have been next to the washer in the next apartment, and i could hear it running all night. I also could hear their TV and music, as well as their conversations during quiet hours. There was also no explanation of what to do with our trash, I had to ask for clean towels several times, and the kitchen cabinet doors were all installed backwards. It's little things. Sometimes for these small things it feels like a hotel that includes these services may have been a better option. Also, the person who checked me in charged me for city tax on site, but could not provide any documentation of what I was charged for. French receipts are not itemized, but for a business traveller, I need to prove to my company what it is I was paying for. I have stayed in other apartments in years past, and have never been charged this on site, or without a folio to show the tax. Not sure if this is normal or not.

Die Klimaanlage ist für die Größe der Wohnung an sehr warmen Tagen etwas schwach.

Air conditioner didn’t work properly (was more of a fan that real AC) and the elevator was out of service during the whole stay. Its a rectangle room with a twin bed and sofa couch, the pictures can be a bit misleading but overall the location was great and the stay decent.
