It is a cute hostel with green and the dorm i was in was soo spacious, never seen that in my travels. The kitchen is spacious too. And the pool was clean.
The bed was comfortable too.
It is a party hostel with dorms next to the party area so it’s constant loud music until 12 which I found difficult as I just wanted to chill in the evening and didn’t know where to go apart from in my bed with earphones.
Also I didn’t go to the pool as there’s no space around to just lie down and relax.

Staff was really nice and the spaces are great for people to connect
The bunk beds shake WAY too much for the tiniest movement

I loved the pool and the place. Everyone was so friendly and honestly loved how you can socialize or keep to yourself without any judgement, I like to stay in my bubble so I felt comfortable every second during my stay.
It would've fantastic if the staff that does the bathroom cleaning would at least knock before coming in, there were so many times that a man would come in the room to clean without warning or knocking, didn't say anything since I thought it wasn't a big deal but the other girls did mentioned it too.

The whole atmosphere of the place, the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The property has a big luggage storage room which is great if you have a later flight.

Not sure why it gets so many positive responses. Maybe because these are young dorm stayers who praise it. It has a pool after all...and it's cheap.
In my case, I didn't book a dorm but a private room, and it was completely unsatisfied. Glass windows (and curtains) instead of walls, which makes your room an aquarium. It gets very hot there but with no AC available, all you can do is turn the fan on. The key was distorted and it's not easy to open or lock the crooked lock.
I was bummed but accepted that this is what you get for such a cheap rate, but then found out that there are no hot water in the shared shower (at least after midnight) and the wifi is super slow to non-existent so I really didn't have anything to do at night other than joining the youngsters horrendous karaoke by the pool (I love karaoke).

Beaches and restaurants were so close by (unlike La Punta where everything is closed by 11:00 PM). Breakfast is delicious and the pool is spotless! Also, they have their own coconut beer which is delicious! Definitely coming back!
Everything’s good!

WOW this place was pure paradise! My favourite place me and my friend have been to throughout our whole time in Mexico. The people were so lovely, the staff so easy-going and helpful, and the food so delicious. The pool was so wonderful and all the hammocks and lounging spots as well. Fun events every day. Truly just can’t state enough how wonderful our stay was. I often get homesick while travelling, yet I didn’t one bit while staying here, truly felt so comfortable and home-like. I miss it already! Hope to be back again someday!!

The pool was great in the tropical heat. Interesting design of the hostel. Felt like being in a djungle house somewhere.
There were no walls to the bathroom in our private, so make sure you book with someone you're that comfortable with! 😊

Beautiful pool and chill atmosphere, clean dorm and ensuite bathroom.
The shared toilets next to the kitchen were smelly, the dorm door didn’t close, the music at night in the common area was loud (our dorm was right next to it) but luckily they turned it off at midnight.

Everything was fine about this hostel! Clean rooms, beds, showers and it was nice to take a dip in the pool. During the day it was marvelous
It really is a partyhostel, the music starts at 6pm and ends at 12pm. If you want to go to sleep during those hours it’s hard. For me this was not the right fit, i like more quiet at night. But if you’re in for partying every night, this is defenitly the place for you.

The people and the vibe in the hostel. Definitely a good party hostel.
The sheer incompetence of staff and the cleaning personell. They threw away clothes and souvenirs in plastic bags assuming it was rubbish without even checking what was in there. The items were even laying inside the locker. The staff was not helpful at all and even seemed bothered by my requests to look through the trash. They did not even look through it and simply said they could not find it without providing an alternative. The manager was also unavailable and this ruined my whole experience as the things the cleaning personell threw out were very precious and pricy souvenirs. Haven’t seen any money back from them, complete joke the personell and management in this hostel.
Since the staff exists mainly of volunteers, they do not care about giving the guests a good experience and their own pleasure and stay in the hostel is their main priority. This might be good for a party, but not if you actually want to get information or things done around Puerto Escondido.

It’s very communal, they have activities on during the day and evening. Loved having access to the pool especially as it’s a 20 minute minimum to the beach

The space was beautiful with different areas,a bar and of course the pool. The bartender was great as well as his cocktails. The bed was enormous. It is a good place if you want to meet people.
It is not quite. It is not the place to rest. The bar is open until 12 and they are very strict on that but people is still talking afterwards and in the morning as well. For some of the workers it seems a big effort to do any simple task or to solve doubts you ask them. There is no soup in the private bathroom.

Nice pool, kind people at the reception
Almost every employee of the hostel was sick. Coughing a lot. I was quite afraid to also get infected. They had social events in the night but I had the feeling, the hostel people were the only ones getting drunk. No one else joined. Mybe because its down season.
It is quite far away from La punta, where the show is mostly going on

This is the ecological friendly hidden, friendly, shadowed place full of warmth atmosphere with lots of outdoor hammocks and the pool. In addition, the kitchen is full of useful facilities, and a party is closing up with the playing music on time, until midnight. Moreover, there is a place to communicate with different nationalities at the same time in one place by cooking, pooling, swinging in the hammocks, or just drinking at a small bar. As they said, arriving as visitors and leaving as friends. Easily could be truthful for you.
Even though the hostel is green friendly and it really has separated ecological friendly containers, to sleep at night is kind of uncomfortable without air conditioning stuff. It's very ok in the early morning when the sun is sunrising up, but we have to take into consideration the climate of the place.

Loved how relaxing the venue is and how welcoming and friendly all of their staff were. Short distance from the main beaches also very handy. Loved every second I was there, will definitely be back :)

Everything was just amazing! The whole vibe of the hostel is very friendly, cheerful and welcoming. I arrived alone and left with a lot of friends :) I would highlight the social activities promoted by the hostel, specially by Fidel, who was always worried about bringing everybody together to have a lot of fun!

Really social hostel with activities each day. The pool was very welcome as it was soooo hot. Fidel was so much fun and ensured that everyone felt welcome and got involved and you could tell that he cared about his job.
Some of the other staff members weren't the friendliest or helpful. In our room there were so many ants crawling everywhere.

Loveeeed staying in this hostel, my favourite one so far thanks to the amazing vibes from the team! Everyone goes out of their way to make travellers feel welcome - shout out to Mr. Fidel who organised one of the best sunset watches in Mexico!
Gracias amores!
The only downside is it’s a little far from the bars and beaches in La Punta

not particularly near the beach. definitely not near clubs.

social hostel, good place to make friends and opportunity to party if you want to. age group is early 20s-30s. the Wi-Fi is strong and I liked that there was a kitchen there (although you can’t drink your own alcoholic beverages while the bar is open). coffee and OJ was so good in the morning! staff are friendly and helpful. lots of organized group activities you can book the hostel.
the rooms were really hot during the day but also at night. most of the guests I spoke to were feeling sleep deprived due to the heat. there’s no natural airflow and the ceiling fan is weak. a few big box fans or AC in the rooms would make such a difference. noise goes until midnight so bring earplugs if you want to sleep before them (although staff are very strict about the noise stopping at this time).

Everything. The pool, people, places to chill. Been traveling for 4 months and I had the best time here out of all my hostels. Staff are amazing and do everything they can to ensure you have fun and you’re included in everything. rooms and shared bathrooms are a decent size, enough room for everyone and their bags.

this one hostel made my experience of puerto Escondido go from “I like it” to “I love it”. I wish all hostel owners would stay in a hostel like this one and take notes on how to design a hostel for optimal social interaction and how to treat guests to make them feel like family.
I’ve stayed at many hostels throughout the world and I can count on one hand how many truly made me feel like I was at home. this is one of them.
the distance from the beach. but the fact that this hostel has thousands of reviews on hostelworld is testament to how much people love it despite its sun optimal location. it’s not particularly far from the beach, but not beside it either.
that being said, it’s more central location definitely will assist you from getting stuck in the touristy part of town and not experiencing real Oaxaca.
pro tip: to find the best food in Mexico, go to the more rustic places that have lots of locals eating too. you’ll get better food than at the expensive touristy places for 1/4 the price

The staff are super friendly and so helpful. Everything from helping with rooms to helping to heal a cut on my foot! The hostel is really chilled and nice atmosphere too with hammocks and a pool you can’t go wrong!
