This hotel is amazing!! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The price is outstanding- I would have paid more for what we received but got an excellent Expedia deal!! The semi private pool is an amazing amenity- never had anything like that. The only negative was the freezer did not work to freeze ice cubes- it was more of a fridge temp. And the fridge wasn’t cold enough either. Plus- there is a television but absolutely zero channels- but who needs TV when you have your own pool outside your patio !!

The romantic suites have a little pool which is great for cooling off during the day. There is a great sunset spot 10 mins away along with lots of great beaches. Staff are friendly - cleaning is done daily and they are great. Area is quieter than surrounding which is nice. Bunch of great restaurants down the road about 8 min walk.

POSITIVES: The best thing about this place is that it is a really new building that’s nicely designed. It’s clean and well cared for. There is lots of natural light and it is well decorated with lots of wood carved furniture everywhere. There is also space downstairs where you can cook food, and hang out, and great air conditioning. There’s an additional co-working space too, so you can get work done while you travel. The rooms are also well sized. NOISE: The biggest challenge about this place was the noise. We live in New York City so we were looking for a bit of a break from all the city chaos, and we didn’t find that in this place. If you are ok with noise, this won’t be a problem for you. But the windows are super thin and it sounds like you haven’t closed them. There was almost constant noise including: a hen and cockerel farm next door that sounded off through the night / a kindergarten on the other side of the building / dogs barking / traffic and car alarms / a basketball court at the front of the building where teams of young people play every night / several times a brass band in the street or people practicing drumming on the basketball court! I brought the ear plugs I use in NYC but because there is no attempt to soundproof this place, it was noisier than back home, there were no opportunities for afternoon naps and sleeping in, and I left the holiday more tired than and less refreshed than when I arrived due to all the noise.

Easy walking to northern beaches in puerto escondido area, helpful and friendly staff

This hotel feels like a home because of the quality of the construction, the beauty of the decoration, the comfort of the beds, the size of the room and the bathroom. It is brand new and sturdy, with gorgeous woods and stone. Still, without the two ladies who are in charge of it, the staff and the guests, it would not be the outstanding experience that it is. Thank you!!! Three beaches and 8 or 9 restaurants at walking distance - all three small beaches are very nice and the 3 restaurants we tried were delicious (tacos, pizza, middle-eastern). Big long open ocean beach Zicatela is 10 minutes away by car. I recommend Madre Tierra without hesitation!

I had a great stay here. The apartment had good facilities and plenty of space. The location is excellent. It is easy and quick to walk into town for shopping and food. There are great beaches within walking distance and it is easy to get taxis too. Really friendly and helpful staff too. I would stay again.

Madre Tierra was a very nice place to stay, very close to La Riconada. The owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. If the internet had been consistent, it would have been the perfect place to stay. Not the best if you plan to work remotely.

Emma y Paula fueron muy amables y serviciales durante toda nuestra estadía. Fueron rápidos en responder y dieron muchos buenos consejos y sugerencias para viajar por la zona y lugares para comer. ¡El apartamento era perfecto! Estaba limpio, era espacioso, el aire acondicionado funcionaba muy bien y la piscina privada era una excelente manera de terminar el día con un chapuzón después de un día en la playa. La cocina estaba bien equipada con todo lo que necesitábamos. La ubicación también es muy conveniente: puedes caminar a los restaurantes en La Rinconada ya solo unos minutos de Playa Puerto Angelito y Carrizalillo. La propiedad también cuenta con una amplia área común de oficinas que resultó conveniente para la celebración de reuniones de negocios para quienes trabajan de forma remota. En general, no te puedes equivocar si te alojas aquí.
