The location was very convenient. So close to all the main parts of the city you want to see. The beds were extremely comfortable. WiFi Sonos system an added bonus - we already have this in the UK.
Extremely noisy throughout the night from people leaving clubs and bars local to the apartment. With no AC, which isn’t a problem, we had to have the bedroom windows open and although the beds were so comfortable we were disturbed so much. If you sleep with your windows open, be warned this is not a quiet area at night.
Advertised as a luxury apartment. Bathroom definitely needs a coat of paint as a lot of flaky paint and cracks. No toiletries included as advertised. The towels provided smelt damp too and could have been fresher.

The location is excellent—very central and within walking distance of all the must-see sights in Ghent. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the train station, which was manageable. The place was clean and spacious, with plenty of room to relax. Although we didn’t use them during our stay, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the built-in washer/dryer would be especially convenient for longer stays. The host was very responsive and answered all our queries promptly. They even allowed us to stay until 3 pm for an additional fee of €50, which was very convenient.
City tax: Please note that the city tax can be confusing. Aside from what’s mentioned on Booking.com at the time of booking, there is a city tax of €7 per person per night collected separately. For longer stays, this can add up to a significant amount.
End-of-stay chores: At checkout, guests are required to collect all linens and towels, gather and segregate the garbage, and take it down to the basement bins. For families—especially moms hoping for a break from chores during vacation—this is something to be aware of.
Bathroom layout: There is only one main bathroom, which contains two showers with no divider (very close together), plus the toilet and the washer/dryer. There is a separate toilet with a basin, but the overall bathroom setup may feel impractical or awkward for some guests.
During our stay, the radiator heaters were not working on the second day, and there was no hot water in the showers. While we don’t think this was the owner’s fault, we managed with a quick cold shower.

Quite exceptional and unique accommodation and surroundings. Spacious upper floor apartment with white, black and red themed artistic decor. Hosts were responsive and helpful with anything we needed. Location is where you want to be for historic Ghent. Walk to everything.
In our particular situation, payment of city tourist tax was a bit of an issue. But got worked out.

The location is superb, right in the heart of the old town. The apartment is large and was perfectly clean. It is reasonably equipped for a short stay. There are two toilets and one bathroom.
The night club at the foot of the entrance is noisy at the weekend and caused some distasteful outcomes which were not fixed during our stay.

Great location and spacious with a balcony.
A lot of rules to follow.

The property was very central to the historic city and main attractions. The facilities were very good and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen and laundry. The apartment was spacious making it easy for us to relax and spread out a bit.
It was very hot on our arrival and the apartment was very stuffy. Once we opened the windows and located the fans we were able to vent the space. Unfortunately no screens are fitted to the windows so insects enjoyed visiting us during the evening.

This is as good as an apartment gets - believe me! It's very large, stylish and bang in the centre of the city. Communication with the owners was as good as it can be. I suffered an injury and the owners offered to deliver crutches to me
to help me to walk around the town. Extremely lovely accommodation in an extremely lovely place.
It would have been perfect if toiletries were provided in such an upmarket establishment. It didn't bother us but be realistic; if you are staying in the middle of a busy city, don't expect it to be as silent as the countryside.

We had extra person joining us for one night so we changed our reservation to Lord of Ghent. Wow - what a great decision.
Location - super central with gorgeous views in all directions
Full kitchen. Terrace if you prefer. Bathroom plus extra toilet/sink - awesome for larger parties.
Style - can I say I loved the style - the apartment has character.
Owners very communicative with every single detail explained.
We loved everything

Superb location, great views and a very friendly host. We could even stay 2 hours longer to check out later without problems.
Could maybe have been a little bit cleaner, but was definitely okay.

Fantastic location. Beautiful, comfortable, well equipped apartment.
The central location and proximity to the bells means there is some noise at night.

Noisy area late at night…but it is to be expected due to its location.

The apartment is very spacious and has absolutely everything to provide a comfortable stay with a family.
5.0 / 10.0
The location is good and the apartment is big.
It wasn't clean enough. For example, the sofas were sticky, there was hair in the bedroom floors. They have some old furniture, even the napkins box fell apart when trying to move it. The fridge door was quite broken and failing apart.
Moreover, the building entrance is pretty dirty, people likes to pee there during the night so the smell was horrible. On top of that they like to leave the building garbage boxes outside close to the entrance and this in the middle of August with all the heat made a pretty created a horrible smell.
The owners of the apartment offered us used slippers (not very clean) which of couse we didn't use and pointed out different rules that were a bit out of what's usually expected.
1. They don't want people to walk with shoes inside the apartment but the slippers they offered were used.
2. They wanted me to put all the bed clothes and towels in the washing machine before leaving.
3. They wanted us to throw the garbage before leaving but the garbage can was very dirty and not very straightforward to remove the bag (pretty disgusting).
Moreover, she wanted us to leave as soon as possible pointing out that other person had rented the apartment the same day. We left at 9:30-10 but usually we should be allowed to stay until 11-12h (usual check out hours).
We were 5 people and gave us only one key so we had to coordinate among ourselves all the time.
Overall not a great experience.

Pros: You can't beat the location - it's central to everything. The apartment is also well equipped. Owner was polite. The church bells didn't bother us at all.
Cons: There is no air-conditioning (only electric fans even though they advertised that they have AC), which in 30-degree weather made it unbearable. We had to leave the windows and all got eaten alive by mosquitoes because of the dumpster below. But if this doesn't bother you, it's a good place to stay. 😊

- Amazing location, on the main square, located in the historic 16th century Metselaarshuis.
- Phenomenal views from both the living room, the bedrooms as well as the bathroom
- Friendly welcome
- The place looks spacious and beautiful in the photos, but is even bigger and more beautiful in real life; usually it's the other way around.

It was clean, spacious and kept to a very good standard. Parking is close but expensive and to drive in you need to register car for emissions zone.

everything was great!
great location, great facility, just great all around!
since the location is so great, it is not accessible by car (note for travelers with car)
toiletries not provided (listing says it is provided)
host said not provided due to covid, but it does not make sense to me…. soap is essential for cleanliness in the apartment!

Beautiful property in the perfect location of Ghent. Everything what needed for a comfortable stay was there. Amasing view from the bedroom. Very well equiped.

Perfect location. State of the art, luxury specifications. Friendly, attentive welcome by the hosts. Clean, unfussy, stylish decor. Wonderful shopping and eating opportunities on the doorstep.
Only that I couldn’t stay longer. Be prepared for the bells ringing close by which starts at 8am; no problem for me but could wake determined night owls.

Great location, comfort and kindness of the hosts
Soundproof of the windows could be improved, as being in super center at night there is noise until late

Amazing. Absolutely our favorite place we stayed. The views from the windows were of several main attractions. The location could not have been better. It is a five minute walk to the main area. The place was clean and had anything you needed including robes and slippers. Washer and dryer were available and one of the reason we picked this property as a midway stop on our trip. Highly recommend this place. Thanks so much for letting us stay at your lovely place and for all the pre-communication. Would definitely stay here again
Look everyone mentions the bells. They are annoying but you have a choice stay at any down town hotel and deal with the bells or stay outside of town and deal with having to travel into town. I would stay close to town any day and deal with the bells. Host did a great job of going over everything but the washer and dryer, he should add that in which I’m sure he will. Would have loved a second key but we made it work

Beautiful space with great amenities, comfortable beds, let us stay for a later checkout
When you rent an upscale place you don’t expect 1/2 roll of toilet paper for 4 people for two nights—but otherwise great

The overall apartment was well planned and laid-out creating a comfortable environment. From our Lounge, we could look towards Sint-Niklaas Church and on to Sint-Michiels Church. From our Lounge we could look towards Sint-Baafs Cathedral and also the Lakenhalle and Belfort. It is a great location!
Nothing, though we did encounter some difficulties getting our 4 large suitcases to the apartment as Mageleinstraat is a pedestrian street, which actually is a nice advantageous really. But we managed ok, and there is a taxi rank on Volderstraat where is joins Henegouwenstraat - literally 3 minutes walk from the apartment.
