A welcome stopover on a long journey and will use again!

Very clean, ensuite good with toiletries but toilet was shared facility, which we knew but not a problem. Just when we arrived the concierge did not acknowledge us as dealing with another customer , a little off-putting as afterwards we had a glass of very good wine before going up to our room, he was friendly and helpful. Did not stay for meals. The bed was comfy but needed more pillows.

Overnight stop on way to Poitiers

This was a convenient stop for us on the way to Poitiers. It had a quaint atmosphere unlike some of the bigger chain hotels and we enjoyed a very nice meal in the hotel garden. Our room was a reasonable size with a comfortable bed. There wasn't any Aircon but there was a decent room fan.Given the price we paid we were happy to stay here.

The overflow parking for the hotel was across the road and felt a bit exposed given that most of our belongings were left in the car. We were however able to move the car into one of the parking spaces in the hotel yard later in the afternoon..

Excellent restaurant and cheap room easy to find just off motorway (but not in earshot)

Dinner in Restaurant was excellent. House red wine was excellent. Waitress was superb despite being rushed off her feet and did her best to speak English to us.

Towels were a bit worn and no fixing for shower head, but a cheap overnight stay very convenient for motorway. Breakfast not available until 9am Saturday and Sunday was too late for us.

Nothing on the menu for vegetarian, could not even be flexible with omlette frites - and we did advise in advance when booking, that a vegetarian was in our party. Towels in room were smelly.

Didn’t stay

It looked lovely, the lady receptionist was very kind and helpful and phoned the nearby Campanile to get us a room. It wasn’t her fault the boss had double booked our room

Very steep dark stairs to the bedrooms and a narrow corridor. Blessing in disguise our room was double booked as those stairs were quite dangerous for any one with difficulty in walking

Don't think I'll repeat this stay

Location was very good Meal was ok, at least I didn't have to go out. The proprietor was welcoming and tried hard.

Quite old world place but furnishings terrible. Bed was comfortable. Glad I took my own pillow. Lighting poor. Glad I had a torch. Room really needed gutting and starting again with furnishing and decor. Shower room was assortment of bits, all needed maintenance jobs. Breakfast was expensive for three small pieces of bread, butter and jam, croissant, yoghurt, apple and small pastry.

The woman who runs it is very kind. The dinner was very good and the prices are reasonable. Very easy and free parking.

Dinner was not until *7pm*, which, if you’re not travelling with an infant, is probably fine for most people. The rooms are dated, to say the very least. The sink and shower in the room we had barely drained at all. The rooms are also quite small. The kicker was that we were solicited to pay for breakfast the night before when we checked in, which we did pay for, but didn’t find out until the next morning that is isn’t served until *9am*. We didn’t wait around.

Relaxed place to stopover and great value

We used this as a stopover while travelling south. Location is perfect for that. Very close to motorway and easy to find. Parking no problem. Although on a busy road, our room was quiet. Small room but fine. We ate in the garden. Simple meal but nicely cooked and presented. There were quite a few diners, but the service was quick. We chose to have breakfast and were pleased we did, it was excellent value The staff were friendly and completed the ‘set’ for all boxes ticked for a stay. It will be on our list of places to break a journey from now on

The food was excellent and the lady who served us for breakfast was really pleasant and helpful, which made up for the less than hospitable reception we received when we first arrived.

We received a very frosty reception when we arrived at the hotel which continued at dinner by the rather strict and severe lady at reception some people might pay good money to be treated so, but I would prefer a little more hospitality.

We didn’t have breakfast, dinners are very good, the bar has a lovely atmosphere and quaint We park near the hotel instead of across the road. It’s nothing fancy, the hotel is clean, comfortable and near the motorway perfect for a one night stop over. No air conditioning they have fans.

Superb

Staff were very welcoming. The room was comfortable and the meals, both evening and breakfast were fulfilling and well worth the money. This was the third time of staying at Auberge Normande as it,s a comfortable 4 hour drive from the Eurotunnel and only a few minutes off the motorway going down through the South of France and into Spain. We shall certainly be using this establishment again. There is a supermarket within a short distance so you can fill up with fuel at a cheaper rate than on the motorways.

Disappointing

Very Clean bathroom. Size of car park

No bed sheet only a cover. Duvet in wardrobe without cover. Receptionist not friendly and left us to go up unlit steep stairs to find room. Lighting poor for reading. Partner banged head on TV( wall mounted but he is 6 ft 2)

Very good value for money and did the job.

Very good value for money hotel. The staff are pleasant and helpful. For travelling through and not visiting the town centre this is a very good location near to the autoroute. If you want to visit the town then it's a good 40mins walk. No taxis or Uber here! We had motorbikes and were able to park them out of sight from the road in the hotel car park.

The room was cheap so you get what you pay for there. No complaints from me but don't expect a plush experience. The bed was comfortable and spacious but the shower a bit DIY! I reserved this place as it said there was a bar on site, which there is. Hence, I wasn't worried about the 4k walk into town. However, the bar shuts a 9pm right after the dinner service finishes so that's not really helpful. I thought it would be an all day bar with dining which it isn't.

The dinner was excellent and served in a lovely dining room obviously frequented by locals, always a good sign.. Breakfast was copious and equally good, warm croissants, bread, pain au chocolat, fruit and yoghurt, orange juice and coffee.

The room was not very comfortable with the bed up against a wall. Bathroom needed t.l.c. and the shower awful and no hot water.
