Cozy stay in a great location with a fantastic host.

Our entire stay from start to finish was lovely. Martin was incredibly helpful with suggestions for places to eat, places to see and routes to take to get to our next destination. He also makes a delicious breakfast and accommodated our requests to eat after we went for a run. The room was comfortable and stocked with toiletries and tea and cookies. It was truly a wonderful stay and Martin is just a great human being!

We stayed near Ballycastle to break up our trip along the North shore. Managed to even get in a trip to the Dark Hedges

Lovely spot with a great room and bathroom. Our host was very friendly and we had an outstanding breakfast.

Lovely "old school" B&B

The owner Martin is lovely - exactly what you want in a B&B. The rooms were nice - some are upstairs so ask for the ground level if stairs are an issue for you. Pretty property just a few minutes from the Giant's Causeway!

Fabulous Irish Hospitality

Maghernahar is a fabulous B & B. Martin couldn't have done more to ensure our stay was comfortable and that we were well fed. Such a caring, friendly, good humoured host who is very attentive to his guests needs. His cooked breakfasts were delicious and we had never seen such an array of cereals, fruits, preserves etc Our rooms were spacious, clean with good bathroom facilities and there was plenty of space to park. Maghernahar is situated in the countryside, about 10 minutes drive or so from Ballycastle, which was perfect for eating out in the evening and for exploring the Antrim Coast.

Great place to stay near Ballycastle

It was spotless. Lovely views from the family bedroom. Really quiet at night. Great having fresh milk for tea/coffee (kettle in room). Wonderful breakfast selection: fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, many cereals, many jams/spreads, AND cooked breakfast too. Martin is a very good host. Handy location for a single-night stay before the ferry to Rathlin Island.

Great weekend stay

Martin as a host was fantastic. Big comfy room with plenty of teabags and biscuits. Nothing was any trouble, we needed an extra towel had it immediately. Breakfast delicious plenty of choice for cereals and juices. Cooked breakfast perfect.

A delightful place to stay with a wonderful host.

Maghernahar B&B is one of the best places we have stayed in. Martin our host was fabulous. More than helpful, Martin provided excellent suggestions for local restaurants and less known places to visit. The room was very comfortable, complete with tea & coffee making facilities and a range of biscuits. The bathroom is spacious and an excellent shower. Breakfast was incredible with a range of cereals beyond compare, and then Martin offered a range of cooked breakfasts. The B&B is an easy drive to Ballycastle and beyond and I would recommend staying here when exploring this lovely part of Northern Ireland.

Breakfast was fantastic. Host was great - personable and accommodating. Location was close to town. Communication before hand was great. Nice room with kettle and snacks. It was clean.

Bedding could use some updating. The sheets and blankets seemed very old and well used. Pillows could be updated as well.

Fantastic

Great location for the Carrick a Rede rope bridge, the dark hedges and the Giants Causeway. Martin was exceptional, a welcoming host and nothing was too much trouble. We had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was delicious, so much choice on offer. The rooms were lovely and clean. Very quiet location too. Exceptional stay.

Stop over to see the Giants Causeway.

Room was big, as was the en-suite. Nice big table, so easy to work with laptop, working r all photos I took of the North Antrim Coast, Dark Hedges, Ballycastle, Giants Causeway and Ballintoy harbour. So ideal location. Martin the host was friendly, helpful, and chatty. The breakfasts were good, liked the display of cereals and jams, marmalades, honeys, nutella, even marmite! So something for everybody. liked the little fridge on the landing so I could have real milk in the tea I made in my room. Oh also really loved watching the housemartins flying around the house.

We liked everything about Maghernahar B&B. It is one of the best we’ve stayed in. The owner Martin was very friendly and helpful. He made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. There was a wide variety of options for breakfast . The cooked breakfast was so delicious. We have booked another stay at the end of August. 💕

House felt tired. Stayed at much newer feeling places for the same money.

Driving up to the house on gravel with potholes. House needs paint refresh on outside. Dirty gravel pad in front of house makes property feel low end. Room feels like the early 90s.

Everything was wonderful. Martin was the perfect host, from cooking delicious generous breakfasts each morning, to providing invaluable suggestions for our daily sightseeing. The location was is great as you are in the countryside yet only a short drive from the Causeway Coastal route.

The lighting in the bedroom. Inadequate for reading without physically removing the shades - which I did. NO "comfy chairs" in the room. Very limiting for my wife who suffers from spinal stenosis and dystrophy of the shoulder.

Martin and Michelle were incredibly hospitable and made our stay excellent! I have celiac disease and was thrilled at the gluten-free options available for breakfast, including the hot options. The blackout curtains were so good that we overslept by 2 hours, but despite being extremely late for breakfast Martin made us feel comfortable and at home and provided us with everything we could need.

The room was spacious and bright as was the ensuite. Martin was a warm and friendly host and the breakfast was first rate. Free range eggs from his own hens I suspect!
