Clean hotel but only pay cheap prices
Location is very good for Jesmond and the city
Large groups staying and very noisy throughout the night and not having the wifi access, having to ask for a code rather than it being in your room.

Pleasant stay, aside from the inconsiderate guest who left the bath running above us.
The room was at the front of the property, so had a large bay window and lots of light. Also had a bathroom window, so it was nice to have natural light. Room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable.
There was a leak in the room above is, so we did have the sound of dripping water all night. We made the night manager aware, but the hotel was full so there wasn't really a lot they could do, aside from hope that we still had a ceiling the next morning.

Great value and lovely hotel
The property was perfect for what we needed and close to the uni for our open day that we were coming to Newcastle for. It was great value for money and we loved the Indian restaurant connected to the hotel. Food was amazing and very reasonable.
The only problem we had was with the parking. There were no spaces when we arrived and struggled to park. Very luckily a space became available but otherwise I’m not sure where we would have parked.

Decent place to stay on a budget
Not a bad place to to be honest, especially for the price if you are on a budget and want somewhere clean and dry to stay.
I was in room 22, bathroom was upto date, shower was plenty hot enough, bed was comfy and so were the pillows. No mold anywhere from what I could see.
Beeding was clean, towels were clean and smelt clean.
There was a throw to use in the wardrobe if you needed it.
Staff seemed really lovely and willing to help with any questions I had.
Parking is limited but I had no problems getting a spot.
Plenty of restraunts no more then a 3 minute walk away (I recommend sohe) and a waitrose close by incase you forget any toiletries etc. I did see a bus stop right outside so local transport links also
I was abit worried after seeing other reviews but personally I don't get what they were complaining about because it is no where near as bad as others have stated recently.
Over all I thought this place was decent and would happily stay here again if I needed to.
The carpets in this place definitely need replacing or a good wash especially in high foot fall areas like the corridors but you can tell they are hoovered regularly.
The water pressure for the shower was decent enough but not where it should be, however I was still able to shower absolutely fine with no issues.
My room was definitely cold as some other reviews have stated. The radiators were switched on at about 4pm and it did warm the room up abit but in the morning the radiator in my room luke warm and the corridors were warmer then my room, radiators were still on, and still very hot. So if they are on different heating systems they may want to concider turning up the heat or leaving the radiators in the room on past 7am (when I woke up) if not on a different system, then they probably are due to be bled and it's a job for maintainence.
For breakfast I had bacon and cheese on toast with coffee and the toast wasn't buttered. I know it's minor but if I'm paying £12 for breakfast I expect butter on my toast at least.
Only give one little pot of milk for a cuppa in my room.
The bathroom soap was lavender hand soap, I'm allergic to lavender so couldn't use it. I normally don't hold this against places as this is a me issue and lavender soaps tend to be used alot in hotels.
You can smell the Indian restraunt connected to the hotel, I don't mind the smell personally but you can't smell it in your room at all. I did try to book a table at that restraunt but they wouldn't seat one person so I ate else where, this isn't the hotels fault though.
The only complaint I have about staff is as a woman alone I don't feel comfortable having the staff say my room number when there are men waiting behind me as its a safety risk. Simply writing it down and passing it would have been better.
It's literally just little things that let this place down from getting 5stars which is abit of a shame.

Very little, the only thing which was good about the place was the Indian restaurant. Bar was okay but didn’t even have ice
Had many issues, bathroom radiator leaking, tv broken, freezing cold heating barely worked, shower didn’t work so could only have baths, hallways and therefore my room smelling strongly of smoke and an illegal green substance. Did report this throughout my stay but couldn’t change room and didn’t even offer to fix some of the problems. Overall completely dissatisfied.

Check-out procedures and the timings were absurd. Someone actually walked into my room at 9:30 AM while I was still sleeping to tell me to check out—completely unacceptable.
The bathroom lacked even basic amenities. I was given one small bar of soap with my towel, and that was it. The room was cold, quite dirty, and very outdated.
I’m honestly surprised this place still has good reviews. There are much better hotels in the area that offer better value for money. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Room is too small. The headboard is in plastic and has a really awful smell. I tried to clean it but the smell was part of it. I had to sleep with my head towards the feet of the bed.

Set in beautiful West Jesmond and lovely surroundings. Reception area and breakfast room were lovely. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Our room wasn’t at all as the photos you see when booking. The bathroom was better than the room itself. We had 2 sockets which isn’t ample and a thin duvet. The wallpaper was peeling from the walls and the radiator in our bedroom didn’t come on at all. I’m hoping we were just given a bad one off room (number 17). There was a blanket in the bottom of the wardrobe but I would not have wanted that on my bed. From the room above you could hear everything which wasn’t ideal.

Very friendly staff. Excellent location with bus stops right outside to go into the city centre. Really well located for bar/restaurant options. More affordable than other city centre chains. We would happily stay here again!

Comfortable and convenient stay in a great area
Excellent location. Easy to find on a brilliant bus route right outside the door and easy walk from metro. Everything you need in easy distance. Comfortable and great size room. Lovely Indian restaurant attached to the hotel. Super friendly staff who offered late check out and collected my coat when I left it in the hallway. Would very much recommend.
Can’t think of anything specifically. There’s no gym or lift or anything but you already know that when you book so no surprises.
