Our stay in Profondeville was delightful. It was impossible not to feel good in this room, which we enjoyed to the fullest. It was very comfortable and charming (decor, bed, large bathroom, etc.) with everything we needed at our disposal, including a well-stocked fridge (with some food for breakfast). Breakfast was well served, with fresh bread and soft-boiled eggs delivered to our door. The overall rating of 8 is low compared to how we felt, but everyone can have different tastes and requirements...
On a human level, we would not have disdained meeting the owner or manager.

Convenient location to visit Bioul Castle and Dinant. Profondeville is also a very beautiful place.
Friendly host. Spacious rooms. Clean and comfortable.
Good breakfast including fresh eggs boiled to perfection.
TV offers Netflix and youtube, which was appreciated.
Good Wi-Fi.
Not really a criticism but one should know that there is no elevator and one needs to be careful not to hit one’s head when climbing the stairs to the last floor.
Also there are several bars nearby and it might be a little noisy sometimes (though we did visit on Halloween so maybe that was an exceptional night).
In the room, I couldn’t get the coffee machine to work.
One last comment/suggestion: bread offered for breakfast was something like multigrain with seeds, which was delicious (for me) but my kids don’t like it and my husband can’t eat it, so we ended up buying white bread from a nearby bakery. Would be nice to have been offered two options, one being plain white bread.

Much thought had been given to providing every little detail of what one might need, soaps, face pads, bud tips, coffee, tea, nesquick, milk, honey, jam, yoghurt just everything. Room was on second floor with two velux windows creating a lovely through draught on this hot day. And even with high windows view out especially if one stood on a stool was lovely - the rock cliffs that line the Meuse. Massive double bed. Large room. Boiled eggs cooked to perfection brought to room in morning with copious fresh bread.
The initial staircase looks daunting, almost 20 stairs straight up. Then two more shorter staircases. Hostess helped carry suitcase. Once you are up you are in own little world. Very peaceful and pleasant. Slight problem that TV control was missing but we borrowed one from another room. However we never actually got live TV working - but were not really bothered - not TV addicts and had internet.
