An hotel where you don't sleep

Not much. It is just in front of the train station, and that's an advantage. But the area does not feel very safe at night. The breakfast, though expensive, was correct.

Two main things: 1) I spent three nights in this hotel, and I almost could not sleep. There was every night until more than 2 am loud techno music that felt like it was playing in the room (I was in room 209)! I could not tell whether it came from a neighbour or a club, but that was unbearable. Moreover, on Monday morning, works started early in the hotel (they were building up a new lift). 2) The room was not clean. I found hair in and on the bed. The joints in the bathroom are black... and I could not use the kettle, because it was crumbling. So mostly, the hotel failed its one and only mission: allow its guests to be able to sleep.

Not very satisfactory

Breakfast and room OK

Bathroom smelt of drains. Hotel under major refurbishment and only partly open. The renovation work made the room noisy and the lifts were not available. Informed of lift situation only on day of departure, after deadline for free cancellation and a day after speaking personally to staff about booking. No indication in the entrance of the location of Reception. Staff did not offer help with luggage given our age, and that our room was on third floor with no lift available.

Be prepared to pay double for your stay!!!

Location was good, near the centre.

The most disappointing thing was that they charged us DOUBLE the amount! First we paid full amount when we made the reservation in Booking and then we had to pay same full amount when we got there! They said that it was their policy and one of the payments will be released after the check out. Total nonsense!! Also negative about this place was that the bathrooms were not cleaned properly (hair everywhere), pillows were super tiny and uncomfortable. The hotel has old carpets with stains on all the floors which don’t seem very hygienic. The overall look for this hotel is outdated and tired. Luckily we only stayed one night but I would NOT come back there ever again for sure.

Loved the location, across from the train station. Made it convenient to take day trips to explore the area (recommend Dinant!). Also conveniently located close to the old square of Namur. Room was comfortable and staff were friendly.

Nice hotel in the centre of town with a great breakfast

Excellent location with secure bicycle storage inside the hotel. Excellent breakfast selection. From the outside the hotel looks old and easy to miss (especially as the street was being dug up) but as soon as you go inside it is totally different.

Great City to stay in at Our Favourite Hotel.

This is our favourite accommodation on our trip around Belgium. Spacious room, comfy bed, great shower plus a bath. Excellent location and close to the the old city with plenty of eateries. Try the small local eateries as they are very friendly although sign language may be required.

Despite being alongside a busy road, I did not hear anything thanks to the good sound isolation. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was a very good value for money. Second time I stayed there, will stay again there if I happen to be in Namur.

Faded grandeur outside, modernised inside

Impressive facade. All the advantages of being very close to central railway station ( and disadvantages - see below). Room was adequate with usual amenities including a fridge . Our window looked out to a lift shaft but I think we had a budget room. Reception staff very nice.

Namur has obvious social problems and like most big cities the desperate, destitute, homeless, beggars and druggies congregate around the station and by default the front of the hotel. Either intimidating or interesting street theatre depending on you outlook.

The hotel is right in front of the station, very convenient if you are arriving by train and are carrying big luggage. We requested a quiet room, and the room we got was very quiet (looking at the back). Both reception staff (at check in and at check out) were very friendly.

The region around the hotel is very weird at night, there are gang looking men exactly in front of the hotel's entrance (there are around 3 or 4 spots to park the car, that where they stay), and it's a big group (they give of a strong feeling of unsafety). The toilet doesn´t ventilate, so after doing something smelly, keep the door closed otherwise your room is doomed (the next person to use is is screwed). The floor of the bedroom was a bit noisy (like wooden), but nothing much. I think it's a good hotel if you are paying a fair price.
