A beautiful getaway

Gorgeous location, the hut had all you need, water microwave plates etc, we had a wonderful stay and walk. Super cozy and warm :)

Our only quarm was there’s no nearby shops for food etc, and the only pub within a few miles was closed! So make sure you do a small shop in Keswick.

Small but comfortable hut - we slept very sound

Host very kindly offered to drive us to nearby pub as the weather was rather rough. Thank you for the lift!

Great location, really comfy bed.

Location, provision of appliances and the bed was comfortable.

The farm residents had dogs which were kept in the outdoor building next to the hut and dogs were barking throughout the evening and from 5.30am. Also the fly tape hanging down next to the bed with lots of dead flies on wasn’t that great. But also appreciate the heat brings out flies.

Unaware needed £1 for showers - expected with cost. Had no change to pay for showers Noise from camper vans early morning when packing up this is just due to where dolly hut is situated. Originally booked shepherds hut which was out the way of other people

Fabulously friendly welcome, cute little cabin up out of the way. Clean with lots of extras to make your stay more comfortable.

Would benefit from a knob on the wall / door for just getting some clothes off the floor.

Shepherds hut

We stayed in a Shepherds hut on a working farm loved the farm and animals,Shepherds hut was basic but we knew it would be,it was just to gey our head down so was perfect,land Ower was friendly and left us eggs and milk,good value for money and would definitely stay again

The cutest little hut perfect for a weekend away!

location was perfect, Louise very friendly and approachable. We felt very comfortable and well catered for. We will be returning. Facilities were ideal. toilet and showers a minute walk from the cabin. Pots and pans and utilities were all available. Hut was cold in the winter but this was expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Notice that it cost £1 for 5 minutes in the shower. this was not a problem for us but we had very limited cash with us. Pre-warning would of been perfect. This did not affect our stay though and we still will be back for another visit.

Make sure you get what you booked!!

Location, farm animals. Rustic atmosphere.

We didn't get what we'd booked. As soon as we arrived we were told that the Shepherd's Hut (with double bed) wasn't available! (It was booked six months ago). Put in caravan with two single beds, further away from toilet/shower block (thunder and lightning that night). Friendly farmer's wife gave us a discount, but that wasn't really the point... Slightly spoiled what was otherwise a memorable weekend climbing Blencathra.

Very good

Beautiful setting and unique experience to stay in the Shepherds Hut. Having basic kitchen facilities meant that we could self cater for dinner and breakfast. At first we were a bit taken aback with the distance and terrain to cross to get to the toilet and the facilities appeared very rustic. However, everything was there that we needed.

The toilet was a long way from the hut and not practical to use in the middle of the night. We did not expect to have to put money in a slot to have a shower. On looking back, the property description does not include shower, but as bath towels were included, we expected a shower. Unfortunately, as international travellers, we did not have one pound coins with us to be able to use the shower. A couple of suggestions would be a working bulb in the room light and some adjustment on the door, as we got stuck inside after the door swelled with rain.

Superb

The view was incredible, a stone's throw away from a beautiful waterfall! We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend it for an overnight stop!

A fly trap wouldn't go amiss as both our shepherds hut and the people staying next door had flies landing on us all night (it was way too hot to have the window closed). It would also have been nice to not have to pay for the shower, even if it means paying a couple of pounds extra on our booking. We didn't have any cash on us so ended up not being able to shower.

What a delightful place to stay! A working farm with lambing about to start, Helvellyn above for a great day's walk, Thirlmere below and well worth exploring. A breath of fresh air.

Exceptional

Delightful picturesque location, nestled at the bottom of a valley. Over looking the donkey enclosure. Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and life's stresses. It is a welcomed getaway so you can totally switch off and de-stress. It's a working farm guys so not totally quite but you will get a great nights sleep. Perfectly situated in the lakes for day trips. Also the farm has a small farm shop for eggs, veg and yogurts. Louise is a fantastic host, friendly and welcoming to her little piece of paradise.

Absolutely brilliant little break away for the night owners are very friendly and helpful there's no TV or phone signal but that's perfect for what me and Mr's wanted we will definitely be back soon would recommend to anyone wanting a night or 2 by themselves
