Fantastic house with incredibly welcoming family staff, spacious comfortable room with minimalistic design, and stellar dinner and breakfast experience. The father of the family also did a quick tour around the village, which was very appreciated. Overall, it was one of the best highlights of our Japan trip. Highly recommend!

This ryokan is exceptional. The family was extraordinarily accommodating and kind. The food, breakfast and dinner, was Michelin quality. The accommodations were incredibly clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The whole inn provides a relaxing environment and the village tour put on by the grandfather of the family was excellent. We loved hearing about the rich and vibrant culture and history of Shirakawa-go. We came for our anniversary and there was a touching and beautiful moment prepared for us to help make our stay special. This was an incredible experience - thank you for allowing us the pleasure of staying.

I am not exaggerating when I say that every single thing about this experience exceeded our expectations. We visited Japan for over two weeks, and this was by far and away the best thing we did. The entire staff (family) were wonderful. I've never felt more immersed in any location before. It was so wonderful that I hope to some day learn Japanese so that I can go back and visit and get even more out of the experience. The food was wonderful, unique, and such a luxurious, yet homey, meal. The tour was a once in a lifetime opportunity - don't miss it!
