【飛騨高山】kiyomi荘-sou- 贅沢なプライベート空間

設備がとてもいいし、とにかく広くて清潔だった。

専用の別荘として最高の造りである。デザインセンスが素晴らしい。木造本格住宅建築としては一見の価値がある。

The host is incredibly gracious and also responsive, such as when we ran out of kindling. He answers messages almost immediately. The house is really lovely. It has beautiful woodwork, vaulted ceilings, indirect natural lighting, a lovely fireplace, and a well-provisioned kitchen. Everything in the house is in good working order, and we were able to cook several meals without a problem (OK, we had to use Google translate to figure out the stove). There is a fully functioning washer and dryer set in their own laundry area in the garage. Everything is immaculately clean. There is a very nice convenience/gift store just around the corner.

The booking listing is a little misleading, at least to North American eyes. 1. there is no hot tub, despite what the listing says. There is a large, garden tub in the bathroom. 2.There is a sauna, but there is a charge of $60/pop for using it. We demurred. 3.The listing advertises this as having 2 bathrooms, but what it actually has is two toilets and only one (very nice, by the way) bathing area. We had to share this among 5 people, not an ideal ratio. 4. The listing advertises multiple bedrooms, but in reality there are only 2 private bedrooms. Two other rooms that might be used for sleeping are in a loft area and exposed to noise from the common areas below. Worse, you have to walk through either of these rooms to get to the one private bedroom that is upstairs. Putting all this together, it is suitable for up to 2 couples or for a family with small children. THe house is 20 minutes from real restaurants, so you should be prepared to drive to dinner.

Amazing house with everything we needed to stay a few days. A quiet location about 15 minutes from Takayama town center, hence a car is required if you wish to visit the city a few times during your stay. Our host was extremely kind, explained everything, provided wood for the wood stove, and was available anytime using the booking app Messenger.
