Onyado Yuinosho, Shirakawago

Modern facilities, lots of thoughtful extras, yukatas and loungewear provided, amazing restaurant, fabulous onsen, very close to Gassho village.

The location is beyond walking distance from the village center, but the hotel provides a shuttle bus to get you back and forth. The hotel is extremely kid friendly with games and prizes in the afternoon, popsicles and other snacks, an origami and game room, and yukata for little sizes. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The onsets were child friendly and not crowded.

The set meal breakfasts were sometimes repetitive and very salty.

Lounge bar fee was charged for myself and my son even though we didn’t have anything we could drink in there because one of us in our group in the separate room wanted to have one beer and you charge for everyone in the group. It says 1100yen per person and that is deceiving. You should charge extra 1100 yen upfront in the room charge and have everyone access the lounge, prepare more variety of drinks and food so that we don’t even think about it when we reserve the hotel, 1100 yen extra is nothing but instead, now we feel it was a terrible value because of the experience that we had to pay extra 2200 yen for not using the lounge at all. You Assuming my 12 year old is drinking beer is wrong because the lounge is mainly prepared for alcohol and caffeine drinkers. I won’t recommend
