Garner Hotel Hamburg St. Georg by IHG

Vintage hotel just in front of Hamburg hbfs infamous southern entrance. They are renovating it but we are lucky to get one of the inner side premium rooms. The free breakfast was exceptionally good.

* Rooms are hot, with no air condiotioner or small freezer. We could open a window and there was rain overnight. Otherwise, it would difficult to sleep in 30+ C temperature. * Basic tv with no smart/internet option

The location is amazing. We walked everywhere. The train station just across the road has loads of food options and shops. The beds were super comfortable and the high ceilings in the room made it feel very spacious. The building has a lot of character and is well decorated. The room was modern and very clean. The shower was excellent with great water pressure and temperature control. The staff was friendly and treated us well.

The pillows were all super flat. Could use some that were firmer and fluffier. It wasn’t a problem for us but because there is no air conditioning, the windows had to be left open (which we are fine with because we like fresh air) but the noise is crazy at night and in the early morning. Luckily we are heavy sleepers so it wasn’t a big deal but some light sleepers or families with babies might struggle.

I was traveling solo, so I booked a single room and it indeed came with only a twin bed. A tiny room, but it had everything that one needs for one night stay. The location is great, as it's right across the street from the train station and within walking distance of downtown.

The room was quite small with scaffolding in front of the window. Had a I stayed longer, it would have been a bit claustrophobic.

The location of the property was top, due to easy access to the main train station and other means of transportation.

The room was advertised as a Cosy Double Room with pictures showing two beds but then I got a single bed room, not good at all. Also there were contruction site in the yard that one could see right from the bedroom window and the window in the hallway. There was no noise but just having to see it was not the best. Also in the bathroom, the lid of the WC did not close until down, so kept up as shown in the picture taken.
