A perfect Re TREAT

Such a beautiful little property hidden away. A short walk from sea views.

Nothing we didn’t like about it at all. It could do with a bit more of a powerful shower and a wipe down of the walls.

We had a lovely stay in The Retreat and are looking forward to returning soon.

The Retreat was in a good location, only a short walk to the High Street and the seafront. It was very clean and decorated tastefully. There were tea and coffee facilities. Communication with the owner was very prompt and helpful.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property. If it is possible a mini fridge would be a good addition.

Lovely and perfect stay!

Very clean and cosy. Felt private and secluded even though it is by the main house. Host was responsive, friendly and helpful. Also loved the little story about the history of the house and family - very sweet!

Loved our overnight stay , it had everything we needed

The Retreat is a few minutes walk to the beach . It’s in a super quiet location behind the main house . Perfect cute room for a stop over . It has everything we needed , down to wine glasses ,

No mini fridge which would be a summer bonus , but they have a cool box

Lovely detached accommodation close to the sea.

Nice, detached annex, comfy bed and very clean.

Would be better if it had a table for suitcases, hooks for coats and hanger for soap/ gel in shower!

Good communication from the owners who were friendly and helpful. The Retreat was warm with a low light on as we arrived making it feel welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the area was quiet.

Lovely conversion, excellent space, comfortable bed and nice bed linen.

Shower lets it down. It fluctuated between scalding hot and rather cold. This is the only thing that lets it down.

Perfect little hideaway right near the beach I have told all my friends and family about this little gem!

We stayed here as decided on a last minute stay at the beach and what a find it was! Gorgeous little hideaway in the garden, lovely design inside. They have thought of everything, lots of tea and coffee was a bonus I recently stayed in a castle 5* hotel and the detail was better here!

Very convenient location for Mersea Regatta weekend, within 10 mins walk of town and beach.

This accommodation is situated in the rear garden of a victorian villa in a mature setting. The beautiful tree that dominated this part of the garden renders the interior rather dark. No fridge.

Had everything you would need for a quick break away. Comfortable, clean, well maintained! Didn’t need to take towels, wash products, coffee and tea as they were all provided.

Perfectly ok for an overnight stay

It was advertised as a studio but actually it’s a bed and a shower room. There was an ice box at the front door but it would have been useful to have a fridge and microwave, with perhaps a comfortable sofa

Ideal secluded place to stay for couple of nights

Great location. Walking distance to the water. Great eateries. Friendly local people. Lots of walks - beautiful sunsets too - don’t forget to have breakfast or lunch at The Art Cafe in the village. Great food and Friendly staff - The Retreat is a great place to stay with TV. Comfy bed. full shower. Tea Coffee Water Soaps and Towels. Highly recommended for couple nights stay 😊

I would recommend The Retreat. It was something different for us and felt a special treat.

A little gem. Liked the walkway leading up to the property. The little touches were lovely inside the property.The communication was excellent. The location was perfect.

Had problems with the TV, it kept loosing the signal which was frustrating. The teabags were awful. Mould in the shower.

Perfect little stay for work rest days!

Great location, very clean and comfortable. Communication from the host was amazing and ensured our stay was comfortable and happy. My partner and I both work for the emergency services, so we had organised this little trip in between work rest days. This was the perfect place on the coast, not too far from big cities or from the water.

I loved the hideaway feel of this room, being situated in the garden and surrounded by trees was a lovely and made it feel very calm and peaceful.

As the accommodation doesn't provide breakfast, it would be very handy to have a small fridge for fresh milk and cold drinks. The shower pressure was very low, particularly for washing hair.
