Bad experience with host

We had very bad experience with the host. We had a problem to find a location, and we called number multiple times and no one answered. When we finally arrived on our own, only child was there to greet us, and it just told us the room number. Host texted us late in the evening to say we forgot to pay, then again in the morning, without coming to us at any point to introduce or apologize. When we finally found her at the reception on second day, the first thing she told us was 'you forgot to pay'. I find this to be exceptionally rude and I've never had such an experience with the host. Not a single nice helpful word to guests, not reachable through phone, and only talking about money. I saw some people had similar experience in reviews. The host is a foreigner and this behaviour gives wrong impression on Montenegrian hospitality!

Alright but could be better.

Everything was clean. Air conditioner is working. We had a large room with a big terrace.

Sometimes at night the power would cut off. Last day we didn’t have any water to shower and wash up before our trip back home. Wifi wasn’t working sometimes.

Horrible service.

Our stay was cancelled while us being already in Herzeg Novi. We were informed about it out of booking's site, via SMS, in a wrong Polish. It's a place that I really do not recommend, you just do not do something like this at the last minute and expect to find something while the stay was booked already for 5 months! You've had plenty of time to inform us beforehand.

It was okay for the price. Her teen son was a help, for she spoke no Eng… but he did.

Location quite difficult to find because it is up a small lane. She needs to provide different landmarks and tell folks coming from Kotor direction that it is the first small lane to the right after a walk over bridge above the street. She also could name the businesses on the corners where you will need to turn .

Listing states there is a TV. One Is THERE, but are not even usable.

Clean and spacious room, good location close to the beach.

The Chek in was at 2pm but the room wasn't ready so we had to wait on the hot sun. I messaged them on booking for additional information before the arrival but they never replied. There are many mosquitoes in the area but no nets on the windows. The wifi quality was poor and not sure if the TV had any channels at all.

The host and her son were amiable. For me, the room was a bit cold, but they immediately helped to solve the problem. The room was quite cozy. The environment was quiet as well. I was happy about the stay.

Great stay in Herceg Novi

This my second stay in Guest House Zvezda Meljine. It was even better than a year ago: * Very nice and friendly Lady who is taking care about the Guest House * very easy to find * my room and all the other rooms were very very clean * electric kettles in every room * electric heater when the nights will be cold * good air conditioning * very comfortable beds * nice bathrooms * nice little balcony * close to the beautifull promenade Setaliste Pet Danica * close to bakery and local supermarkets * i liked everything even more than year ago * close to the main road and bus stations * great value for money * i will go back there again *

In accordance with the description; good simple accommodation.

Everything was in accordance with the description. I stayed 2 days. The room was very clean. I like the minimalistic style of the room. Picture on the wall adds a nice touch of elegance to the room. The host is kind. Location is good.

I have arrived at the specified time of check in (14:00). However, I still had to wait for around 20 minutes for my room to be ready. There was no chair so I had to sit on the concrete.

Kind owners ( offered me a coffee on my arrival), close to supermarket and main road. Not far from the beach.

Bed was rather uncomfortable. You could feel the springs. Having said that, the apartment is good value for money.

Overbooks. You may end up being put in the storage room without refund.

Host doesn't speak English and overbooks the rooms. She sold my room out to a group that walked up. When I arrived she put in the storage room that had a single bed. The amenities I had paid full price for such as A/C, private bathroom, and terrace were not provided in the storage room she moved me to. She ignored my request for a partial refund. She does not speak English and rarely replies to messages through booking.com.
