Oxfordshire Living - The Alice Apartment - Oxford

I'm an Oxford grad student & researcher who has been traveling to Oxford for more than a decade, staying in everything from college residences and serviced apartments to some of the city's finest hotels, so I've come to know Oxford and its accommodations well. This was, without question, the best place I've stayed. I suspected I'd chosen a great location when I booked it, but I didn't fully appreciate just how exceptional it was until I arrived. The apartment sits in the heart of Oxford's historic city center, directly adjacent to the modern Westgate shopping center. Step outside the front door and you're literally in the courtyard of the nearly 900-year-old Oxford Castle. From there, Oxford's historic streets, colleges, museums, and cafés are just a short walk away. Multiple coach services stop outside the building, the main railway station is only an 8-10 minute walk away, and central Bus Station (Gloucester Green) is the same distance in the other direction. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. Two east- and west-facing balconies provided morning & evening light and fresh breezes every day. The bathroom featured an excellent walk-in shower with outstanding water pressure, plus a separate bathtub. The kitchen had everything for my month-long stay, with quality cookware, plenty of utensils, and ample storage. The generous living area also made it easy to entertain family and friends visiting from London at the weekends. The host was really great to communicate with and very responsive and Booking.com was so easy to use. Whether you're a student, academic, business traveler, tourist, or visiting with family, I can't imagine a better base for experiencing, or even living in, Oxford. I would gladly stay here again.

Near everywhere. Hop on off bus stops across street direct in front of unit. Very clean and direction to gain access very complete. We dined at the hotel steps from the apartment. That also had a cozy bar.

Minor issue learning how to use washer and dryer combo . But a short visit on YouTube and we understood. Arriving during the weekend patrons of the restaurant enjoying outdoor dinning and libations were load until closing time . (Ie past our bed time) . 🥱 I used my earplugs and all was well.

The staff is undoubtely very helpful, Vanessa, sent all the information ahead of time and that makes the check-in process smooth & easy. I really appreciate all the facilities included in this apartment, and it just made my stay at Oxford very special. I would definitely stay at this place again next time.

The noise at night can be disturbing because the apartment is located just above some restaurants.

As a location for visiting the old city of Oxford, it was quite convenient.

The noise! And the lack of ventilation. The apartment is directly one floor above a very active outdoor drinking place, where dozens of people bellowed and guffawed well through the afternoon and into the night. Since the weather was hot, we had to keep windows open. The constant clamour was oppressive and made sleep difficult.
