Good place for us to stay at short notice when visiting my brother

Loved the view and the kitchenette that had everything we needed

The room smelt smoky when we came back after being out in the morning. We were assuming that the smoke had come from someone either smoking in a flat next door or underneath which had come through the walls or ceiling, and when we tried to open the windows they wouldn’t open as they were old and appeared to have got stuck and broken. The bathroom was a bit tight to be able to get into the shower as the shower screen door was very close to the toilet.

Fab two night stay

The facilities were excellent, the view was lovely to look out onto, the room was clean and comfortable, location was fab with just a short walk into town.

The bath towels are small and it would be nice to have a spare toilet roll but for two nights, we managed. If going longer, I would recommend taking your own.

Good value, quiet, and modern well-equipped room

Excellent value for money, private off road parking, clean and very well-equiped room with microwave, crockery, wine glasses and tumblers, fridge, and even a teapot. Wardrobe, large shower and bathroom. Very comfortable night's sleep, in a well-heated room, great wifi and TV. Will return. Good for business or couples.

Room was a nice size with excellent views over bakewell. The bed was really comfortable and the location was within walking distance to town centre.

Disappointing- wont be going back.

Heating was good. Great location. Huge bed. Good views. Parking (though worryingly tight).

Kitchenette was pitiful - just a kettle, toaster, microwave - no hob as shown the pictures. Bare minimum crockery and utensils. Passable as a place to sleep, but far from suitable as a self catering facility. Dining table was so wobbly that drinks and cereals spilled. Rug was frayed and curled up causing a real trip hazard - we took it up and stowed it in the wardrobe. WiFi was useless- far better to switch off and use phone signal. Paths and steps were treacherous on cold mornings. Arrived at 1400 as arranged and was shown to the room and introduced to the site, then got a call at 2200 asking if we were still planning on coming that day - left hand right hand? Expensive for what it was.

A lovely property in the heart of Bakewell.

I loved the fact that it was very central in Bakewell, so close to town that we could walk there on foot. The view from our bedroom window was spectacular. The property is located next to a beautiful Bagshaw Hall.

The parking was a bit challenging because we couldn’t fit into our designated space however we have been asked to park in any space in the car park. It was a bit tight with reversing and cars parked closely to one another. If you have a small car, you’ll be fine. The property is also located on a hill which means it’s an uphill walk there if you do walk to town on foot.

Great location, property with great history and staff.

We were on foot...travelled by coach n bus so had to walk uphill to property. Stay v good n staff great. Room and facilities vgood but rooms needs updating. They forgot to arrange beds as twin as we friends but they quickly sorted that issue. We paid for breakfast b4 leaving and it was more than enough indeed. Maybe drop price and give half? Great for visiting The Old House Museum just a few yards away.....that was a great visit. V near to the town ...downhill.

Room door (which opens outwards) directly opposite office on outside path and other residents walk past door and bathroom window on path. No light over bathroom mirror for shaving. Quite dark.

Very good location, just wouldn’t stay for more than 1 or 2 nights.

Very spacious lodge, good kitchen facilities, very nice view and extremely short walk into Bakewell town. Also got 10% discount at a local restaurant and it was lovely there.

Plumbing issues - blocked sink, and when upstairs used any water it caused all of the pipes in our lodge to make very loud and constant noises which then lasted for about an hour. Lodge is at the top of a large hill and parking via google maps takes you to the main hotel not the lodge. WiFi doesn’t work.
