Nice place to stay and enjoy the Blankenberge

Overpriced in Blankenberge

Room was clean. We paid for an upgrade and the room was a good size.

We were invited our first night for an event. I booked 2 extra nights so we could relax a few days and paid an upgrade for a deluxe room. I called a few days ahead to the hotel to see if we could stay in the same room all 3 nights, they said absolutely and that they had organized it. Upon check in they said they could not do this and we had to stay in 1 room the first night and then pack up and move rooms the next morning for the next 2 nights. I pointed out that I had upgraded and called ahead to stay in the same room all 3 nights and the woman shrugged her shoulders and said it wasn't possible. I complained and said this was not honest and we would check out the next morning then as we came to relax and had been promised the same room our whole stay. A man from the back office came out and said they didn't have any other rooms and didn't know about the arrangements..... I went to our room and started to unpack and then the man called and said they'd found a solution to have us in the same room for the 3 nights. Lucky that in the end we did not have to move rooms, especially for 265 Euros/ night in Blankenberge - and breakfast was not included and 25 Euros/person. The hotel should really be more customer focused, especially for customers paying to upgrade into their most expensive rooms, we will not stay again.

Location, breakfast, staff, swimming pool and sauna were fine.

For 170 euro for the night I had high expectations but the room was small and cramped and the single mattresses on the beds were very narrow.

Wrong room due to booking. com standard web page upgrade question

The staff explained the situation could not be fixed, since the hotel was fully booked, as such tried their best.

Booking. com offered the standard upgrade which in fact was a downgrade, since the room did not have air conditioning and the Wi-Fi was poor (worked fine outside the room. The inside walls of the room also needed a make over.

Great location, could use some improvements in information available.

The room was nice - simple, but cozy. The pool was pleasant and the breakfast area was bright and welcoming. The location is practical between the station and the beach front. The staff is kind.

We had an issue with our shower - it was returning water during the night without even being used. I wish it didn't take all day long for them to fix it, but I understand that it may not have been only our room and it took some time. The parking though - it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the Booking site that we needed to reserve this in advance. When we arrived, it was naturally full so we had to use paid parking around and that was effing expensive.

Gym was inadequate. Pool smells strongly of chlorine. One lady in the reception was having a bad day, and after asking her for wine glasses (to have our wine in the rooftoop, where no service was provided) she basically chased us to tell us how inappropiate we were being. Absolutely unnecesary and rude, giving a bitter end to an otherwise great stay. The rest of the staff was great, giving us very good tips on restaurants and things to do in town.

Very kind and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was amazing. One of the best I've ever had with so much variety. We got an upgrade and the room was really nice and cozy. I did love the bathroom and the separate toilet. Very convenient. The wellness facilities were amazing and very clean. I highly recommend this hotel and will hopefully be back.

Nice hotel with good breakfast

Very good breakfast, nice rooms and bathroom. The free swimming pool and welness were also a nice bonus! There were fresh towels at the wellness/pool. Parking is available when you make a reservation

The fact that parking costs 25 euro is a bit much. Especially since the parking is not directly at the hotel and also in the open air. But this is the only thing I didn't like.

Despite the rocky start, we will be back there again!

The wellness, though small was very nice. Its a good addition to the hotel. And the value you get for your money is also good. They served bubbles @ breakfast too😁, loved that!

That I had to change rooms twice due to bad door lock in our original suite and bad wifi reception in the second one. And till the last day we departed, no one thought to apologise for the inconviniences until I mentioned it. Also the fact that there is no telefoon or a personeel stand@ the wellness area, you have to walk to the reception if you need anything while down there.
