A perfect stay overlooking beautiful Maggiore

Our loft style room was bright, clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast is continental buffet style with limited hot options but with a chance to sit on the terrace with great lake views and lots of opportunities for people watching. We ate dinner in twice - on both occasions the set menu was well presented and tasty and offered exceptional value for money. There are other good restaurants within walking distance too. Staff were without exception friendly and helpful - we went on a boat trip organised through the hotel and took their advice on getting around independently too. The hotel has a free car parking facility a short walk away but you can also pay a daily fee to park just by the front entrance. Lake Maggiore is a great destination for a restful holiday with great sightseeing opportunities too!

Perfect location. Very hard mattresses, and pillows very uncomfortable but other than that the best little hotel in the perfect spot. Would stay there again for sure. Lovely staff. Just be mindful of driving there. Our GPS took us down a dead end street! And only hotel guests are allowed to drive along the (very narrow)! promenade to the hotel. No valet parking as our booking described. We could unload luggage and then were asked to park at a public car park as the hotel was fully booked. But as we only stayed one night our request to leave our car parked at the hotel was accommodated for an extra charge.

Staff were excellent, location is amazing, with good ferry connections to other small towns. The room 217 was beautifully decorated.

The pool was open but freezing cold, so it would have been nice to enjoy a swim as the weather was beautiful. Bikes were free for hotel guests.

Beautiful hotel right on the Banks of the lake. Great friendly helpful staff. We had a nicely furnished room overlooking the lake. Cannero is a very small town well placed for trips around the Northern part of the lake.

Paid parking arrangement , namely Euros 20 to park at the hotel overnight , although they do offer the opportunity to park for free in another part of the town. Breakfast although adequate was not the best as it was repetitive and the breakfast area was squeezed into too small an area. There was no food offered that is cooked to order, (such as Omelettes and eggs ).

Room downgrade for wedding night, thats not nice!

The hotel is absolutely amazing, the food is great, the view is nice

We booked a Junior Suite for our wedding night and the stuff graded us down to a Superior Room with Lake View. This is not acceptable. The room was clearly not a junior suite, the size was too small and only one door balcony access gave indication that they were lying to us. Also Junior Suites are not on the first floor 9 of them in a row.

Great stay at Hotel Cannero with very friendly and helpful staff.

Very good location, nice room, very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast with homemade marmelade and all other sorts of good stuff. Possibility to charge electric car for 0,79€/kwh. They have their own winecellar with the possibility to taste and choose wine for your dinner in the restaurant.

The airconditioning in the room could have been a little bit more efficient and quiet.

Pleasant but could have been better for a 4-star hotel.

The friendliness and service offered by the hotel staff. The excellent view of the lake, and the ease of travel by boat to Luino, Cannobio and everywhere else.

The standard of cleanliness in the room left a little to be desired: towels were changed daily and the bed received a cursory makeover, but that was it. We were obliged to eat our meals indoors, and not on the adjoining terrace, due to the fact that the hotel had not designated that beautiful area as non-smoking, and that there were many inconsiderate guests who insisted on smoking while others ate their meals. The quality and range of the buffet breakfast was generally very good, but the behaviour of guests fighting to grab food and drink made the experience similar to that of a rugby scrum. Totally unacceptable. Throughout, the staff were splendid in trying to meet demand, despite the ill-tempered behaviour of some guests. Finally, the mattress and pillows need renewing - uncomfortable.

Very cosy and lovely place to stay for a few nights at the Lago Maggiore

The staff was very friendly and carefull, the location and the atmosphere is lovely. Breakfast and dinner was very good. We love the evenings with the wine tasting and food.

Parking wasnot ideal. Our room was quit simple. There was not enough place at the swimming pole. No possibility to swim in the lake in front of the hotel.

feels like beeing in a dream. this is a great hotel in fantastic location. family business, the old signiora still greets (some) guests. friendly staff, incredible breakfast buffet, beautifully decorated, freshly redone rooms. all rooms seem nice but especially the lakefront-rooms view is unforgettable.

sorry to mention this - but egg omelettes or eggs sunnyside up should not cost extra in a hotel of this category, seems a bit petty. the eggs provided are the kind that come from a huge packet of pre-mixed eggs or egg powder. sorry, but we don't eat that stuff - and i am certain neither do the owners ...

Location.view. no automobile traffic. Family run. Quiet. Ferry boat connection in front. Muy simpatico. Stayed there in 2006, 2007, 2009. It is still the best hotel we ever stayed in. Superb.
